Prior to tonight’s game against the Cleveland Guardians, the Phillies returned right-handed pitcher Michael Rucker from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley and reinstated him from the 60-day injured list. Additionally, outfielder Austin Hays has reported to the club and will be active for tonight’s game.
Phillies President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski made the announcement.
Rucker, 30, has appeared in 12 rehab games this season between single-A Clearwater, Double-A Reading and Lehigh Valley and posted a 3.21 ERA (5 ER, 14.0 IP) with 21 strikeouts to three walks. After opening the season on the 15-day injured list with a right hand arterial vasospasm, Rucker was transferred to the 60-day injured list on June 3.
Originally selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 11th round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Rucker was acquired by the Phillies in a trade on Feb. 6, 2024.
