OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s placed first baseman/catcher Tyler Soderstrom on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 10, with a left wrist bone bruise and selected outfielder Seth Brown from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.
Soderstrom began the season in Triple-A before joining the A’s on May 8. He has played in 49 games and is hitting .219 with seven home runs, 20 RBI, and a .711 OPS in 166 plate appearances. In 27 games this season at the Triple-A level, he hit .245 with seven home runs, 19 RBI, and a .882 OPS in 119 plate appearances.
Brown rejoins the A’s after being outrighted to Triple-A on June 18. In 16 games with the Aviators, Brown has hit .403 with seven home runs, 24 RBI, and a 1.152 OPS in 77 plate appearances. He began the year on the A’s Opening Day roster and batted .189 with five home runs, 15 RBI and a .557 OPS in 63 games with Oakland. He was originally selected by the A’s in the 19th round of the 2015 draft and made his Major League debut in 2019. The 31-year-old left-handed hitter has a .222 career average with 64 home runs and 201 RBI in 469 games over six seasons with the A’s.
