The North Carolina State Lottery Commission has released its sports wagering revenue report for February 2025, detailing the monthly revenue submitted by the eight licensed interactive sports betting operators.

Between February 1-28, account holders in North Carolina wagered a total of $543,402,737 on sports events, including paid and promotional wagers. Of this amount, account holders won $485,193,649.

State law imposes an 18 percent tax on the gross wagering revenue generated by sports wagering activities. Gross wagering revenue is defined as the total amount received from sports wagers less the amounts paid as winnings, before any deductions for expenses, fees, or taxes.

In February, the gross wagering revenue for the state’s eight licensed interactive sports wagering operators amounted to $55,658,912. After applying the 18 percent tax rate, the estimated tax proceeds for the month are projected to be $10,018,604. This is the expected amount that the N.C. Department of Revenue will collect from sports wagering operators.
