MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers announced today the signing of 22 international free agents as the 2026 international signing period officially opened.

“This is a proud day for our international scouting department and marks the first step toward the Major Leagues for our 22 signees,” said Director of International Scouting and Player Personnel Taylor Green. “This class has the potential to be special. Years of hard work and dedication from our staff led to this moment, and we’re thrilled to welcome these players and their families to the organization.”

The Brewers’ class features five players ranked among Baseball America’s Top 100 international prospects, including Venezuelan shortstops Diego Frontado (No. 24) and José Rodríguez (No. 28), and Dominican shortstop Ricki Moneys (No. 39). Milwaukee also signed Venezuelan catcher Moises Salazar (No. 68) and Dominican shortstop Angeni Fernandez (No. 98), both of whom appear on Baseball America’s list.

Moneys (No. 20), Frontado (No. 24), and Rodríguez (No. 49) are additionally ranked inside MLB Pipeline’s Top 50 international prospects for the 2026 class.

The Brewers have a strong track record of success on the international market. Outfielder Jackson Chourio, who in 2025 became the youngest player in Major League history (21 years, 199 days) to record multiple 20‑HR/20‑SB seasons, was signed on the first day of the 2021 international signing period. Infielders Jesús Made and Luis Peña, ranked as the club’s top two prospects entering 2026 by Baseball America, were both signed on the opening day of the 2024 international signing period.

A 6-foot-1 left-handed hitter with advanced offensive tools and strong plate discipline. He grades as an above-average defender with a solid arm, plus baserunning ability, and standout instincts.

A 5-foot-11 right-handed hitter with plus athleticism and excellent speed. Shows above-average defensive tools in center field with natural instincts.

Leonardo Reynoso — INF, 17 (Dominican Republic)

A 5-foot-10 switch-hitter with contrasting offensive profiles: contact-oriented from the left side and more power-driven from the right. Defensively, he features solid hands and a plus arm.

“Reynoso has a sweet left-handed swing built for using the whole field and hitting for average. Defensively, he projects best at third base with his plus arm. He’s played extensively in international tournaments and consistently performed at a high level.”

Jarvis Gomez — OF, 17 (Dominican Republic)

A 6-foot right-handed hitter with an impressive blend of speed, power, and arm strength. A high-end athlete with significant upside across the board.

Ambeiro Recio — OF, 17 (Dominican Republic)

A 6-foot-1 right-handed hitter with a muscular frame and standout raw power. His swing features natural loft and leverage, giving him above-average impact potential.

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that they have agreed to terms with right‑handed pitcher Taylor Clarke on a one‑year contract. To clear a spot on the 40‑man roster, right‑hander Gus Varland has been designated for assignment. The D‑backs’ 40‑man roster remains at 40 players.

Clarke is coming off a strong 2025 campaign with the Kansas City Royals, where he appeared in 51 games and went 1–1 with one save and a 3.25 ERA (20 ER in 55.1 IP). He held opponents to a .194 average with a 0.85 WHIP, walking just nine batters while striking out 44. He set career bests in scoreless outings (40), WHIP, and opponent batting average. Clarke was one of only two Major League pitchers last season to record 50+ appearances with nine walks or fewer, joining Tyler Rogers (SF/NYM).

He has logged 50‑plus appearances in each of his last two Major League seasons (2023 and 2025) and has recorded 40‑plus outings in four of the last five seasons in which he has pitched (2021, ’22, ’23, ’25). Clarke was originally selected by Arizona in the third round of the 2015 First‑Year Player Draft out of the College of Charleston and made his Major League debut with the D‑backs on April 20, 2019, at Chicago‑NL.

Across three seasons with Arizona from 2019–21, Clarke appeared in 78 games (20 starts), going 9–8 with one save and a 4.99 ERA (95 ER in 171.1 IP), along with a .259 opponent average, 1.39 WHIP, 65 walks, and 147 strikeouts. Over six Major League seasons with the D‑backs (2019–21) and Royals (2022–25), he has pitched in 234 games (22 starts), compiling a 16–16 record with eight saves, a 4.73 ERA (176 ER in 334.2 IP), a .258 opponent average, 1.31 WHIP, 106 walks, and 304 strikeouts.

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Giants announced today the addition of three international prospects to the organization, including two players from Venezuela and one from Mexico.

Headlining the 2026 international signing class is infielder Luis Hernández, MLB.com’s top‑ranked international amateur prospect.

Hernández, a right‑handed hitting shortstop from Guárico, Venezuela, will play the 2026 season at age 17. The 5’9”, 175‑pound infielder spent the 2025 summer campaign in the Venezuelan Major Leagues (Liga Mayor de Béisbol Profesional) with Los Samanes de Aragua, where he delivered an impressive breakout season. Over 104 games, he posted a .346/.386/.452 slash line with 14 runs scored, six doubles, one triple, one home run, 16 RBI, and four stolen bases, earning Rookie of the Year honors. He also hit .357 with a double, a home run, and three RBI in the Gran Final, helping Aragua secure its first championship.

“We’re excited about what this group of players brings to our organization,” said Giants Senior Director of International Scouting Joe Salermo. “Luis stood out to us for his ability, character, and work ethic. We’re proud to welcome him and this entire class as they begin their professional journeys with us.”

CLEVELAND, OH — The Cleveland Guardians announced today the signing of 22 international amateur free agents as the 2026 international signing period officially opened.

The class is headlined by shortstop Svert Reinoso, one of the premier talents in Latin America and ranked No. 37 on MLB.com’s Top 50 International Prospects list.

This year’s signing group features 12 players from Venezuela, eight from the Dominican Republic, and two from Cuba, as announced by Senior Vice President of Scouting Paul Gillispie and Director of International Scouting Richard Conway.

Conway praised both the players and the organization’s scouting infrastructure for reaching this milestone.

“Today is an incredibly exciting day for these players and their families. The players have worked diligently on and off the field over a number of years to put themselves in a position to become professional baseball players. We look forward to supporting them along the next steps of their developmental journey as they strive for long, productive, and healthy careers,” Conway said. “The opening of the signing period is also a recognition of the efforts of so many across the organization, especially our scouting staff, who have worked tirelessly to help welcome this group of players to our organization.”

The Cibao region of the Dominican Republic—long known for producing elite baseball talent—is home to Reinoso, a native of Santiago who continues to train there ahead of the 2026 signing period. He comes from a baseball‑focused family and is regarded as a highly driven prospect with significant physical tools and strong developmental habits.

Reinoso features an exciting blend of power and hitting ability, particularly from the left side, with a repeatable swing path and competitive approach in the batter’s box. Evaluators believe his power will continue to grow as he matures physically.

Defensively, Reinoso owns a plus arm suited for the left side of the infield. While not a pure speedster, he shows quick feet, fluid actions, and natural fielding instincts, traits that should allow him to remain at shortstop as he develops. With continued growth, he projects as a strong‑armed infielder with impact potential at the Major League level.

Blackburn, 32, appeared in 15 games (four starts) between the Mets and Yankees in 2025, going 0–3 with one save and a 6.23 ERA (39.0 IP, 47 H, 29 R/27 ER, 12 BB, 34 K, 6 HR). He opened the season with the Mets before being designated for assignment on August 16 and released on August 19. The Yankees signed him to a Major League deal on August 21, and he went on to post a 5.28 ERA (15.1 IP, 16 H, 10 R/9 ER, 4 BB, 16 K, 3 HR) across eight relief outings for New York. Over his final seven regular‑season appearances, he recorded a 1.50 ERA (12.0 IP, 2 ER). Blackburn was also included on the Yankees’ 2025 American League Wild Card Series and AL Division Series rosters.

Across nine Major League seasons with the Oakland Athletics (2017–24), New York Mets (2024–25) and Yankees (2025), Blackburn has compiled a 22–31 record with one save and a 4.97 ERA (467.1 IP, 517 H, 269 R/258 ER, 144 BB, 363 K, 62 HR) in 101 career games (86 starts). He was selected as an American League All‑Star with Oakland in 2022.

A native of Antioch, Calif., Blackburn was originally chosen by the Chicago Cubs in the supplemental first round (56th overall) of the 2012 First‑Year Player Draft. He was traded to the Seattle Mariners along with INF Daniel Vogelbach in exchange for LHP Mike Montgomery and RHP Jordan Pries on July 20, 2016, then acquired by the Oakland Athletics from Seattle in exchange for INF Danny Valencia on November 12, 2016.
