WINNIPEG, MB., – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Canadian defensive tackle Collin Kornelson.

Kornelson (6-2, 279; University of Manitoba; born: February 14, 2000, in Winnipeg, Mb.) returns to the Blue Bombers in 2026 for his second season after initially being selected by the club in the fifth round, 44th overall, in the 2023 Canadian Football League Draft.

He dressed for nine games in 2025 and made three defensive tackles. His CFL debut came against the B.C. Lions on June 12th last season.

A product of the Manitoba Bisons, Kornelson attended training camps with the Blue Bombers in 2023 and 2024 before returning to school. He was a second team All Canadian in 2024.

2024 U.S. Olympian returns to MLS after blossoming in Belgian Pro League;

Yow’s Discovery Priority acquired from Vancouver Whitecaps FC

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution today acquired American winger Griffin Yow from Belgian Pro League side KVC Westerlo and signed the attacker through the 2027-28 MLS season, with additional club options for 2028-29 and 2029-30.

To complete the signing, New England acquired Yow’s Discovery Priority from Vancouver Whitecaps FC in exchange for $125,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money and the club’s 2027 MLS SuperDraft second round pick.
Yow joins New England following a three-and-a-half-year tenure with Belgian Pro League side KVC Westerlo, where the 23-year-old netted 18 goals and 10 assists over 86 matches in all competitions from 2022-25. This season, Yow scored three goals in 16 league games for Westerlo. In total, he owns over 140 professional appearances in the United States and Belgium, including 32 MLS appearances with D.C. United. “Griffin Yow is a talented winger who will strengthen our attack,” Revolution Sporting Director Curt Onalfo said. “Griffin brings important playing experience overseas, in MLS, and in international competition. Griffin’s athleticism and decision making in the final third will help make us more dangerous around goal in the years ahead.”

On the international stage, Yow has represented the United States at the Under-17 and Under-23 levels. Yow was also part of Revolution Head Coach Marko Mitrović’s roster at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where he appeared in all four matches and recorded an assist. With the Under-17s, Yow scored six goals and distributed two assists across 14 games, including two appearances at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.

“I had the pleasure of coaching Griffin at the United States Olympic Team, where he quickly impressed me with his willingness to learn, his eagerness to develop, and his drive to win,” Mitrović said. “Griffin has strong instinctive abilities on the attacking end that complement his speed and abilities with the ball. I look forward to welcoming him to our team and working with him again.”
Yow developed at the D.C. United Academy before signing with the club as a Homegrown Player in 2019. The Clifton, Va. native recorded his first professional minutes with D.C.’s developmental side, Loudon United FC, later that year. With the first team, Yow tallied three goals and two assists in MLS play between 2019-22, in addition to 18 games played for Loudoun. 

Yow has joined the Revolution’s preseason camp in Florida as the team prepares for the 2026 MLS season, which kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Nashville SC (8:30 p.m. ET). The Texas Rangers today announced a series of roster moves:

  • RHP Jakob Junis has signed a one‑year Major League contract for the 2026 season.
  • RHP Dom Hamel has been designated for assignment.

Junis, 33, spent the entire 2025 season on Cleveland’s active roster, posting a 4–1 record with a 2.97 ERA (22 ER/66.2 IP) across a career‑high 57 relief appearances. He recorded 55 strikeouts, issued 18 walks, and allowed just 0.68 home runs per nine innings—the 10th‑best mark among American League relievers with at least 65 innings pitched. Left‑handed hitters managed only a .237 average (23‑for‑97) and .669 OPS against him.

Junis delivered two separate nine‑game scoreless streaks (March 29–April 17 and July 1–30) and posted a 2.03 ERA (6 ER/26.2 IP) in 20 appearances after the All‑Star break.

Across his nine‑year Major League career, Junis owns a 46–46 record, two saves, a 4.36 ERA (410 ER/847.0 IP), a 4.31 FIP, and 768 strikeouts in 249 games (116 starts) with Kansas City (2017–21), San Francisco (2022–23), Milwaukee (2024), Cincinnati (2024), and Cleveland (2025). He is one of only four active pitchers with 100+ starts and 100+ relief appearances since 2017, joining Seth Lugo, Reynaldo López, and Brad Keller. The Jacksonville, Arkansas native was selected by Kansas City in the 29th round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of Rock Falls Township High School (IL).

Hamel, 26, was claimed off waivers from Baltimore on September 27, 2025, and did not appear in a game for Texas. The Rangers have seven days to trade, release, or outright him to the minor leagues.

With today’s moves, the Rangers remain at the 40‑man roster limit.

Rangers Sign RHP Josh Sborz to Minor League Contract

The club also announced the signing of RHP Josh Sborz to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League Spring Training.

Sborz, 32, spent the entire 2025 season on the 60‑day Injured List following right shoulder surgery in November 2024. He made 12 rehab appearances between Triple‑A Round Rock and Double‑A Frisco before being shut down after his August 30 outing. Sborz last pitched in the Majors in 2024, going 2–2 with a 3.86 ERA (7 ER/16.1 IP) over 17 relief appearances for Texas.
