Wise Owl Boxing, led by boxing manager Mark Habibi, proudly announces the signing of undefeated lightweight sensation Brandon McCarthy to its elite management stable.
McCarthy, a decorated Irish standout, brings one of the most accomplished amateur résumés in recent memory. The 16-time National Champion compiled an astonishing amateur record of 200-15, earning widespread recognition throughout Ireland and internationally for his skill, toughness, and championship pedigree.
Since turning professional, McCarthy has wasted no time making his mark. He currently stands at 5-0 as a pro and has already demonstrated rapid progression in the paid ranks. After debuting on the respected ProBox platform in a four-round bout, McCarthy advanced to six-round contests by just his second professional fight — a clear indication of both his readiness and the confidence his team has in his ability.
Now training out of the world-renowned Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California, under acclaimed trainer Marvin Somodio, McCarthy is sharpening his tools among elite company as he prepares to climb the lightweight ranks.
Wise Owl Boxing, owned by Habibi, manages an elite stable of fighters including highly ranked contender Brandon Adams, who is on the cusp of a world title opportunity, as well as multiple Olympians who have successfully transitioned into the professional ranks.
Habibi believes McCarthy is a natural fit for the Wise Owl family.
“Brandon is the perfect addition to our stable,” said Habibi. “His amateur career is incredibly impressive — 200 wins doesn’t happen by accident. That experience is exactly why he was able to move into six-round fights so quickly against tough competition. He doesn’t shy away from anyone. I love that killer instinct. He’s going to make a lot of noise at 135 pounds.”
McCarthy is scheduled to make his first appearance under Wise Owl Boxing management in April, on a card to be officially announced in the coming weeks.
With his decorated background, relentless style, and championship mindset, Brandon McCarthy now begins the next chapter of his career — one that Wise Owl Boxing fully expects to lead to major opportunities in one of boxing’s deepest and most exciting divisions.
WINNIPEG, MB., – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with veteran defensive back Nick Hallett.
He had officially hit the Canadian Football League free agent market on Tuesday.
Hallett (5-11, 190; University of Toronto; born: November 11, 1993, in London, Ont.) returns to the Blue Bombers for a seventh season after originally being selected by the club in the seventh round, 61st overall, in the 2019 CFL Draft.
A valuable contributor on special teams for his entire career, Hallett has appeared in 100 regular-season games for the Blue Bombers including seven starts at safety. He is also a two-time Grey Cup champion as a member of the 2019 and 2021 squads.
Hallett appeared in 14 games in 2025, registering two defensive tackles, nine on special teams while adding a forced fumble. He led the Blue Bombers in special teams tackles in 2023 with 20, third in the CFL, and now has 80 in his career – sixth most in franchise history.

The Spurs enter on a five-game winning streak, looking to extend their dominance in the Southwest Division, while the Warriors aim to build on a gritty comeback win despite missing several key players. This is the third meeting between the teams this season, with Golden State winning the first two on the road in San Antonio.

Golden State Warriors: 29-25 (8th in Western Conference, 3rd in Pacific Division)
Recent Team Forms
The Spurs have been one of the hottest teams in the league, winning five straight and going 7-3 in their last 10 games. Their offense has been clicking, averaging high-scoring outputs in recent victories. The Warriors, meanwhile, have struggled with consistency, posting a 4-6 record in their last 10, including back-to-back losses before a narrow win over Memphis. Without several stars, they’ve relied on depth but have had trouble generating consistent scoring.

Injury Report
Spurs:
Stephon Castle: Questionable (Pelvic Contusion)
Lindy Waters III: Out (Knee)
David Jones Garcia: Out (Ankle, Season-Ending)
Warriors:
Stephen Curry: Out (Right Knee/Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, Expected Out Through All-Star Break)
Jimmy Butler III: Out (Right ACL Tear, Season-Ending)
Seth Curry: Out (Left Sciatic Nerve Irritation/Back)
LJ Cryer: Out (Left Hamstring Injury Management)
Kristaps Porzingis: Out (Left Achilles Tendon Injury Management)
Will Richard: Questionable (Right Knee Contusion/Soreness)
The Warriors are severely depleted, missing their top scorers and key contributors, which shifts the advantage heavily toward the Spurs.
Key Player Matchups
Victor Wembanyama (Spurs) vs. Draymond Green/Frontcourt (Warriors): Wembanyama, averaging elite numbers in points, rebounds, and blocks, will exploit the Warriors’ thinned frontcourt. Without Porzingis, Golden State may rely on Green to anchor, but Wemby’s length and shooting could create mismatches.
Devin Vassell/Chris Paul (Spurs) vs. Jonathan Kuminga/Gui Santos (Warriors): Vassell’s scoring (around 20 PPG) will test Kuminga’s defense. With Curry out, the Warriors’ backcourt lacks firepower, allowing Paul to control tempo.
Stephon Castle (Spurs, if available) vs. De’Anthony Melton (Warriors, if available): A potential rookie-vs-vet guard battle, but both are questionable. If Castle sits, expect more from Julian Champagnie.
Key Bench Battle: Spurs’ depth (e.g., Keldon Johnson) vs. Warriors’ role players like Pat Spencer and Moses Moody, who have stepped up recently (Spencer led with 17 in last win).
The Spurs’ balanced attack should overwhelm Golden State’s makeshift lineup.Series HistoryAll-time, the Spurs lead 117-74 in 191 regular-season games.
However, the Warriors have won the last two meetings this season:
Nov 14, 2025: Warriors 109-108 at Spurs
Nov 12, 2025: Warriors 125-120 at Spurs
Golden State is 7-3 in the last 10 head-to-heads, but those wins came with a healthier roster. The Spurs hold a 2-0 edge against the spread in those recent games.
Betting Trends
Spread: Spurs -7 to -7.5 (-110), Warriors +7 to +7.5 (-110).

NEW YORK – Detroit Pistons forward-center Isaiah Stewart has been suspended seven games for leaving the bench area, aggressively entering an on-court altercation, and fighting, it was announced today by James Jones, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations. The length of Stewart’s suspension is based in part on his repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts.
Additionally, Charlotte Hornets forwards Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabaté have each been suspended four games for fighting and escalating the altercation, and Pistons center Jalen Duren has been suspended two games for initiating the altercation and fighting.
The incident began when Diabaté committed a defensive foul on Duren with 7:09 remaining in the third quarter of the Pistons’ 110-104 victory over the Hornets on Feb. 9 at Spectrum Center.
All four players were assessed technical fouls and ejected from the game.
Stewart and Duren will begin serving their suspensions tonight when the Pistons visit the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena. Bridges and Diabaté will also begin serving their suspensions tonight when the Hornets host the Atlanta Hawks at Spectrum Center.
Tipoff is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET (6:00 p.m. PT).

Injury Report
Oklahoma City Thunder:
Out: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (PG, abdomen; expected out until at least Feb 20), Jared McCain (SG, not injury-related), Brooks Barnhizer (G, G League – Two-Way).
Note: SGA’s absence is massive for OKC’s offense; Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams will shoulder more load.
Phoenix Suns:
Out: Grayson Allen (SG, right knee sprain).
Note: Allen’s absence weakens Suns’ shooting; Devin Booker and Jalen Green are off the report and available.
These injuries hit the Thunder harder, depleting their star power.
Key Player Matchups
Chet Holmgren (Thunder PF) vs. Devin Booker (Suns SG): Holmgren anchors OKC’s defense; Booker (high PPG) exploits mismatches—expect Booker to target for 30+ points.
Jalen Williams (Thunder SF) vs. Jalen Green (Suns SG): Williams steps up without SGA; Green (recently returned) provides athleticism—Williams could feast if Green limited.
Luguentz Dort (Thunder SG) vs. Kevin Durant (Suns SF): Dort’s defense vs. Durant’s scoring—Dort might limit Durant under 25 points.
Isaiah Joe (Thunder G) vs. Bradley Beal (Suns G): Joe provides spacing; Beal (if active) exploits OKC’s depleted backcourt.

Note: The absences deplete the Clippers’ backcourt scoring and playmaking.
Houston Rockets:
Out: Steven Adams (C, left ankle surgery), Fred VanVleet (G, right knee ACL repair).

Injury Report
New York Knicks:
Out: Miles McBride (G, pelvic core muscle surgery; out indefinitely), Mitchell Robinson (C, left ankle injury management; out until at least Feb. 11).
Questionable: OG Anunoby (F, right toe soreness/toenail avulsion).
Note: Anunoby’s status is crucial for perimeter defense; without McBride, backcourt depth is thin.
Philadelphia 76ers:
Out: Paul George (F, league suspension; serving 25-game ban).
Questionable: Joel Embiid (C, right knee injury management), Quentin Grimes (G, illness), Dominick Barlow (F, illness).
Note: Embiid’s potential absence would weaken the interior; George’s suspension removes a key two-way player.
These injuries could tilt the game toward the Knicks if Embiid sits, but Philadelphia’s depth might compensate.
Key Player Matchups
Jalen Brunson (Knicks PG) vs. Tyrese Maxey (Sixers PG): Brunson exploded for 40 points in the Feb. 10 loss.
Maxey (28.8 PPG) leads Philadelphia—expect a high-scoring guard duel with both potentially over 25 points.
Karl-Anthony Towns (Knicks C) vs. Joel Embiid (Sixers C, questionable): Towns averages 23.4 PPG and 11.9 RPG.
If Embiid plays (35 PPG in recent games), this big-man battle could decide rebounding; otherwise, Towns dominates.
Mikal Bridges (Knicks SF) vs. Kelly Oubre Jr. (Sixers F): Bridges provides defense; Oubre (knee brace but available) averages 15 PPG—Bridges could limit Oubre under 12 points.
Josh Hart (Knicks F) vs. KJ Martin (Sixers F): Hart leads in rebounds (14 per game in playoffs last year); Martin’s athleticism tests him.
Series History
All-Time: 76ers lead 266-213 in 479 regular-season games.
This Season (2025-26): Knicks lead 1-0 (112-109 W on Jan. 24).

Injury Report
Indiana Pacers:
Out: Johnny Furphy (F, right ACL tear; out for season), Tyrese Haliburton (G, right Achilles tendon tear; out for season), Obi Toppin (F, right foot stress fracture).
Questionable: Quenton Jackson (G, G League two-way), T.J. McConnell (G, right hamstring soreness), Aaron Nesmith (F, left hand strain), Taelon Peter (G, G League two-way), Micah Potter (F, left hip contusion), Ethan Thompson (G, G League two-way), Ivica Zubac (C, left ankle sprain).
Note: The Pacers’ backcourt is severely depleted without Haliburton and potentially McConnell, shifting responsibilities to Andrew Nembhard.
Brooklyn Nets:
Out: Tyson Etienne (G, G League two-way), Chaney Johnson (G, G League two-way), E.J. Liddell (F, G League two-way), Michael Porter Jr. (F, right knee tendinitis).
Probable: Noah Clowney (F, left ankle sprain).
Note: Porter Jr.’s absence removes a key scorer (25.0 PPG), but Claxton (18.3 PPG, 6.6 RPG) remains available to anchor the interior.
The injuries heavily favor the Nets, as the Pacers’ extensive list depletes their guard depth and frontcourt options.
Key Player Matchups
Pascal Siakam (Pacers F) vs. Nic Claxton (Nets C): Siakam leads Indiana with 23.6 PPG and 6.7 RPG.
Claxton (8.3 PPG, 6.6 RPG) provides rim protection—expect Siakam to exploit mismatches for 20+ points and 8+ rebounds.
Andrew Nembhard (Pacers G) vs. Cam Thomas (Nets G): Nembhard steps up without Haliburton; Thomas averages 12.8 PPG but is inefficient (39.8 FG%).
Nembhard’s defense could limit Thomas under 15 points.
Bennedict Mathurin (Pacers G) vs. Ziaire Williams (Nets F): Mathurin (various high games) vs. Williams (9.5 PPG)—Mathurin could feast on Brooklyn’s weak perimeter.
Ivica Zubac (Pacers C, questionable) vs. Michael Porter Jr. (Nets F, out): If Zubac plays, he bolsters Indiana’s paint; without Porter, Brooklyn lacks spacing.
