NFL Announces 33 Compensatory Draft Choices to 15 Clubs

0

NEW YORK – A total of 33 compensatory draft selections in the 2026 NFL Draft have been awarded to 15 teams, the NFL announced today.

Under the rules for compensatory draft selections, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents (“CFA”) than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks.

The compensatory picks will be positioned within the third through seventh rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost.

Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors. The formula was developed by the NFL Management Council. Not every free agent lost or signed by a club is covered by this formula. Clubs that suffer a net loss of CFAs during the prior free agent signing period are eligible to receive a corresponding number of compensatory selections. In addition, a club that lost the same number of CFAs that it gained (no net loss), may be eligible to receive a selection at the end of round seven based on the value of the CFAs lost versus the value of the CFAs gained. No club may receive more than four compensatory picks in any one year. If a club qualifies for more than four compensatory picks after offsetting each CFA lost by each CFA gained of an equal or higher value, the four highest remaining selections will be awarded to the club.

In addition to the 32 compensatory selections awarded under the net loss formula, a special compensatory selection was awarded to the Detroit Lions under a 2020 amendment to the League’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, which was agreed upon by the NFL and the NFLPA to promote equal employment opportunities and an inclusive workforce within NFL clubs. That selection was subsequently traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars. This initiative provides that the prior employer-club of a minority employee who has been hired by another club as its head coach or primary football executive will receive compensation in the form of a special compensatory draft selection in the third round of each of the next two drafts, or in each of the next three drafts if two minority employees from the employer-club are hired for these positions by another club or clubs. Special compensatory selections are awarded in draft selection order after all other compensatory selections in round three and are denoted with an asterisk in the following table.

The following 2026 compensatory draft picks have been awarded for the 2026 NFL Draft, which will be held on April 23-April 25 in Pittsburgh:

Horse Race Preview: Race 8 – Welder Stakes at Will Rogers Downs

Race Overview

The Welder Stakes is a stakes race restricted to accredited Oklahoma-bred 3-year-olds, run at 6 furlongs on the dirt with a purse of $50,000 (plus $25,000 from the Oklahoma Bred Program). Named after the legendary Oklahoma-bred sprinter Welder, this event showcases promising young speedsters from local barns and often identifies talent for future regional stakes. The field of 7 includes several with strong maiden-breaking efforts, with trainers like Scott E. Young (two entrants) and C.R. Trout fielding live contenders. Expect a brisk pace on a track that favors early speed in sprints, especially under dry conditions.

  • Venue Location: Will Rogers Downs, 20900 S 4200 Rd, Claremore, Oklahoma 74019, USA. This Cherokee Nation-owned facility northeast of Tulsa features a one-mile dirt oval and is known for its fair racing surface and integrated casino entertainment.
  • Scheduled Post Time: 4:29 PM CT
  • Expected Weather Conditions: Sunny skies with clear, mild conditions. High temperature around 72°F (22°C), low around 48°F (9°C) overnight. Winds from the south at 10 mph, with moderate humidity (around 45%) and no precipitation. These dry, breezy conditions should maintain a fast dirt surface, benefiting frontrunners and horses with tactical speed.
  • Track Conditions: Dirt rated as fast. No bias noted early in the meet, but the dry weather may advantage inside paths in sprints. Rail at 0 feet; average winning time for 6-furlong races around 1:10-1:12.

All horses carry 122 lbs. Morning line odds reflect a competitive group, with Royalamerican as the favorite based on pedigree and connections.

Detailed Analysis

Post 1: Captain Flatter (OK) – ML 15/1
Sired by Flat Out out of a Giant’s Causeway mare, this homebred gelding has shown glimpses of ability but remains inconsistent. He rallied for third in a February maiden at Will Rogers Downs (speed figure: 84), improving from prior off-the-board efforts at Remington Park. The rail post suits his stalking style, but he’ll need to break sharper on fast dirt.

  • Jockey: B Quinonez – Local veteran with a 16% win rate at Will Rogers; strong on longshots (20% in sprints). Quinonez pairs well with Young (22%).
  • Trainer: S E Young – Leading Oklahoma trainer (23% win rate with 3YOs); saddles two here. Captain Flatter’s works (4F in :48.0 on 3/5/26) are steady.
Strengths: Inside draw, upside. Weaknesses: Low figures, class test. Outlook: Longshot for exotics.

Post 2: Drewtonian (OK) – ML 3/1
By Lexitonian from a Broken Vow mare, this colt broke through impressively in a February maiden at Will Rogers (speed figure: 110), drawing off by 3 lengths. Prior placings at Remington show early speed. Bred for sprints, he could wire the field in dry conditions.

  • Jockey: R Diaz – Rising star with 19% wins on dirt; excels with Gelner (25%).
  • Trainer: J J Gelner – Solid with young sprinters (21% stakes). Drewtonian’s bullet (5F in :59.2 on 3/4/26) indicates peak form.
Strengths: High speed figure, gate speed. Weaknesses: Unproven in stakes. Outlook: Major contender.

Post 3: I Am What I Am (OK) – ML 6/1
Pass the Buck gelding wired a February maiden at Will Rogers (speed figure: 110), building on a solid second at Remington. His debut was flat, but he’s improved with experience. Middle post allows tactical options.

  • Jockey: W Hamilton – Capable 17% in sprints; good rapport with Caldwell (24%).
  • Trainer: R Caldwell – Homebred specialist (18% win rate). Sharp works (4F in :47.4 on 3/6/26).
Strengths: Recent win, speed bias. Weaknesses: May tire if pressured. Outlook: Value play.

Post 4: How About Bob (OK) – ML 8/1
Mister Lucky Cat gelding adds blinkers after a close second in February at Will Rogers (speed figure: 98). Prior efforts at Remington were respectable. Suited to the distance on fast dirt.

  • Jockey: R Huckaby – Veteran with 15% wins; handles Swan horses well (20%).
  • Trainer: P E Swan – Consistent with Oklahoma-breds (17%). Equipment change could sharpen focus; works solid (5F in 1:00.0 on 3/3/26).
Strengths: Equipment boost, consistency. Weaknesses: Moderate figures. Outlook: Exotic filler.

Post 5: Runaround Rowdy (OK) – ML 8/1
Flat Out gelding won a January maiden at Will Rogers gate-to-wire (speed figure: 100), rebounding from a dull fourth at Remington. Strong debut second hints at talent.

  • Jockey: L D Goncalves – Top rider (21% at track); hot with Young (26%).
  • Trainer: S E Young – See above; his stronger entrant? Bullet work (4F in :46.8 on 3/7/26).
Strengths: Early foot, barn form. Weaknesses: Inconsistent. Outlook: Upset chance.

Post 6: Royalamerican (OK) – ML 2/1
Upstart gelding dominated a February maiden at Will Rogers (speed figure: 105 est.), after near-misses at Remington. Pedigree screams speed; favorite in mild weather.

  • Jockey: D Cabrera – Meet leader (24% wins); perfect on Trout sprinters (28%).
  • Trainer: C R Trout – Stakes expert (22% with 3YOs). Royalamerican’s drills elite (5F in :58.4 on 3/5/26).
Strengths: Class edge, connections. Weaknesses: Short price, outer post. Outlook: The one to beat.

Post 7: Western Man (OK) – ML 7/2
Code West gelding broke maiden in January at Will Rogers (speed figure: 102 est.), with placings at Remington. Versatile and improving.

  • Jockey: R E Eramia – Strong 20% in sprints; clicks with Offolter (25%).
  • Trainer: J S Offolter – Reliable (19% stakes). Works sharp (4F in :47.2 on 3/4/26).
Strengths: Momentum, closing kick. Weaknesses: Wide draw. Outlook: Strong threat.

PWHL Game Preview: Boston Fleet (9-3-2-2) vs. Vancouver Goldeneyes (5-1-2-9)

Game Details

  • Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM PDT (10:00 PM EDT).
  • Venue: Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, BC, Canada.

This historic arena, with a capacity of around 16,000, has been the home of the Goldeneyes since their inaugural season and offers a vibrant atmosphere for West Coast PWHL action. Doors open 90 minutes before puck drop.

  • Broadcast: Available on NESN (for Boston viewers) and Prime Video.

Recent Team Forms

Boston is on fire, riding a five-game winning streak that includes a 1-0 shutout over the New York Sirens on March 5 and a 3-2 shootout win over the Ottawa Charge on February 28. Their last 10 games: 7-1-0-2, with a dominant defensive stretch allowing just 1.7 goals against per game.

Key to their success has been stellar goaltending and timely scoring, outscoring opponents 12-5 in their streak.

Vancouver, meanwhile, is struggling to regain momentum post-Olympic break, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Toronto Sceptres on March 1—their second straight loss.

Their last 10 games: 3-5-2-0, with offensive woes evident as they’ve scored the second-fewest goals league-wide (19) while allowing the third-most (27).

The Goldeneyes have shown flashes of comeback ability but need better consistency at home.

Series History

This will be the second meeting between these teams in the 2025-26 season. Vancouver pulled off a stunning 4-3 comeback win on January 3 in Detroit during the PWHL Takeover Tour, snapping Boston’s early-season dominance.

The Goldeneyes overcame a third-period deficit with goals from Claire Thompson, Sophie Jaques, and Izzy Daniel (game-winner), outshooting Boston 28-27.

Overall head-to-head: Vancouver leads 1-0-0-0, with an average of 7 total goals per game. As cross-conference foes, their matchups are rare but high-scoring and competitive.

Injury Report

  • Boston Fleet: Defender Zoe Boyd is on long-term injured reserve (LTIR) with a lower-body injury suffered in practice.
  • Forwards Sophie Shirley and Olivia Mobley are also on LTIR with undisclosed injuries.
  • Defender Riley Brengman recently returned from an upper-body issue and is expected to play after missing two games.

The Fleet have been managing depth well but could be thin on the blue line if any day-to-day issues arise.

  • Vancouver Goldeneyes: Forward Katie Chan is sidelined with an undisclosed injury.
  • Defender Claire Thompson is out with an upper-body injury sustained post-Olympics, potentially longer-term, forcing the team to sign forward Brianna Brooks to a 10-day contract for depth.
  • Forward Sarah Nurse missed a recent game with an upper-body issue but returned earlier in the season from an eight-week arm injury and is expected to suit up.

Key Player Matchups

This game features intriguing battles between Boston’s balanced attack and Vancouver’s Olympic-laden roster. Expect these matchups to dictate the pace:

  1. Aerin Frankel (BOS, G) vs. Emerance Maschmeyer (VAN, G): Frankel, fresh off her fourth shutout of the season (23 saves in the 1-0 win over New York), boasts a .940 save percentage and leads the PWHL with 11 wins.
  2. Maschmeyer, a Canadian silver medalist, will counter with her veteran presence, but Vancouver’s defense has allowed 2.4 goals per game.

Goaltending could decide a low-scoring affair.

  • Megan Keller (BOS, D) vs. Sarah Nurse (VAN, F): Boston captain Keller, a U.S. gold medalist, leads the Fleet in shots (four per game recently) and anchors a penalty kill at 91.9%.

She’ll face Nurse, Vancouver’s alternate captain and a dynamic scorer with three goals in her first two games back from injury, though her power play (7.9%) has struggled.

  • Ella Huber (BOS, F) vs. Sophie Jaques (VAN, D): Huber has been Boston’s clutch performer, scoring the lone goal in their last win and adding points in four straight games.

Jaques, a Canadian silver medalist, will try to neutralize her with physical play, having scored a power-play goal in the teams’ prior meeting.

  • Susanna Tapani (BOS, F) vs. Tereza Vanišová (VAN, F): Tapani’s breakaway speed was key in Boston’s earlier loss to Vancouver.

Vanišová, leading Vancouver with a +5 rating, brings Czechia Olympic grit and could spark counterattacks.

Other notables: Boston’s Abby Newhook (+6 rating) vs. Vancouver’s Izzy Daniel (game-winner in January matchup).

Betting Trends

  • Boston is 5-0 in their last five games, covering the spread in four, and 7-1-0-2 in their last 10.

They’ve gone under the total in six of their last eight, averaging 4.2 combined goals.

  • Vancouver is 0-2 since the Olympic break, failing to cover in both, and 3-5-2-0 in their last 10.
  • Home games have trended over (4-2 in last six at Pacific Coliseum), but their power play ranks last at 7.9%.
  •
  • Head-to-head: The lone game went over 4.5 goals, with Vancouver covering as underdogs.
  •
  • League-wide: PWHL games post-Olympics have seen 60% unders due to fatigue and injuries, but cross-conference matchups average 5.1 goals.

2026 CONCACAF Gold Cup Match Preview: America vs Philadelphia Union

The 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16 features a marquee clash between MLS side Philadelphia Union and Liga MX giants Club América. Philadelphia hosts the first leg after advancing past Defence Force with a dominant 12-0 aggregate in the opening round. Club América, seven-time champions of the competition (tied for most all-time), progressed narrowly past CD Olimpia (2-1 aggregate). This tie pits Philadelphia’s home resilience against América’s continental pedigree, with the return leg set for March 18 in Mexico City. The matchup revives memories of their 2021 encounters, where América dominated.

Venue Location

Subaru Park
Chester, Pennsylvania, USA
(Home of Philadelphia Union; capacity: ~18,500)

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET (4:00 PM PT / 00:00 UTC on March 11)
Broadcast: FS1/FS2 (English), TUDN (Spanish); streaming on Concacaf GO, Fubo, and MLS platforms in select regions.

Weather Updates

Early March in the Philadelphia area typically brings cool, variable conditions. Forecast for March 10, 2026, at Subaru Park: temperatures around 45-50°F (7-10°C) at kickoff, with partly cloudy skies and a 30-40% chance of light showers or drizzle. Winds light (5-10 mph), humidity 60-70%. No severe weather expected, but pitch could be damp—favoring a controlled, physical game. Monitor for updates, as coastal influences can shift forecasts.

Injury Report

Both teams enter with some concerns, particularly in attack and defense for the visitors.

Philadelphia Union:

  • Quinn Sullivan (midfielder/forward, ACL): Out long-term (since 2025).
  • Agustín Bouzat (defender/midfielder): Out (suspension).
  • Eddy Davis III (defender): Out (quad).
  • Additional depth notes: Recent MLS matches showed rotations due to early-season fatigue, but core like Andre Blake, Nathan Harriel, and Indiana Vassilev available. Bradley Carnell has options in midfield with Jovan Lukic and Danley Jean Jacques stepping up.

Club América:

  • Víctor Dávila (forward): Out (ligament rupture, season-ending).
  • Dagoberto Espinoza (defender): Out (recovering from ligament injury, weeks away).
  • Isaías Violante (forward): Out (until mid-April).
  • Henry Martín (forward): Out (not yet ready, despite traveling; confirmed by coach André Jardine).
América’s attack is thinned without key scorers like Martín and Dávila, potentially relying on others like Richard Sánchez or Nicolás Benedetti for creativity.

Key Player Matchups to Watch

This pits MLS grit against Liga MX experience:

  • Indiana Vassilev / Tai Baribo (Philadelphia, attackers) vs América backline (Israel Reyes / Sebastián Cáceres): Vassilev’s recent form (including a PK in MLS) tests América’s depleted defense; expect Union to exploit counters.
  • Andre Blake (Philadelphia, goalkeeper) vs América forwards (e.g., Benedetti): Blake’s shot-stopping could be crucial against América’s set-piece threat.
  • Jovan Lukic / Danley Jean Jacques (Philadelphia, midfield) vs Richard Sánchez / Álvaro Fidalgo (América, midfield): Midfield battle key—Philadelphia needs control to limit América’s possession dominance.
  • Nathan Harriel (Philadelphia, right-back) vs América wingers: Harriel’s energy vs América’s wide play could decide flanks.

Recent Team Forms

Philadelphia Union (Last 5 Matches Across All Comps):

  • L 0-1 vs San Jose Earthquakes (MLS, March 7)
  • L 1-2 vs New York City FC (MLS, March 1)
  • W (heavy) vs Defence Force (CONCACAF, aggregate)
Form: L-L-W (Struggling domestically with low scoring; strong in CONCACAF blowout).

Club América (Last 5 Matches Across All Comps):

  • L (recent Clasico vs Chivas or similar; mixed results)
  • W vs Queretaro (Liga MX)
  • D 0-0 vs CD Olimpia (CONCACAF home)
  • W 2-1 vs CD Olimpia (away)
  • L in prior Liga MX outings
Form: Mixed (Inconsistent in league; solid but not dominant in CONCACAF; recent losses highlight vulnerabilities).

Series History

The teams have met twice previously (2021 Concacaf Champions League):

  • Philadelphia Union 0-2 Club América (away for PHI)
  • Club América 2-0 Philadelphia Union (home)
(América advanced comfortably). América unbeaten (2 wins, 0 draws), outscoring Philadelphia 4-0. No recent meetings since.

Betting Trends

  • Philadelphia strong at home in CONCACAF historically but MLS form poor (no wins early 2026).
  • América often grind out results away but missing attackers; conceded in recent outings.
  • Over 2.5 goals in ~50% of recent América matches; Union’s domestic games low-scoring.
  • Both teams scored in mixed recent games; first legs cautious.
  • Sharp money split: some on Union ML for home edge, value on draw or over due to open play potential.

* The Avalanche, Stars and Penguins each required a rally of some kind en route to victory, but Pittsburgh watched Pavel Zacha score his second hat trick of the season and Anthony Mantha achieve a rare feat with two tying tallies in the third period.

* The Senators, who have benefited from Tim Stützle’s 12-game point streak, are within striking distance of the second Wild Card position in the Eastern Conference when they clash with the Canucks on the latest edition of Prime Monday Night Hockey

The Sabres (39-19-6, 84 points) and Lightning (39-19-4, 82 points) met at KeyBank Center with first place in the Atlantic Division on the line and produced a roller-coaster, high-scoring, back-and-forth affair that concluded with a crucial Buffalo regulation win and the club’s first positioning among the top five in the League standings at this stage of a season or later since their Presidents’ Trophy-winning campaign in 2006-07.

* Buffalo, with seven straight wins, occupy first place in its division at this stage of a season or later (1,006 GP) for the first time since April 11, 2010, when they won the Northeast Division.

Sunday’s outing was just the fourth in the past 30 years to feature as many players hit the mark alongside Penguins-Sharks (9 on Jan. 13, 1996), Flames-Maple Leafs (7 on March 14, 2009) and Flames-Lightning (7 on Dec. 13, 2007).

* Thompson joined Alex Tuch (0-4—4 on Nov. 21, 2025) and Zach Benson (0-4—4 on Oct. 15, 2025) as the third Sabres skater with a four-assist game this season – the franchise’s most in one campaign since 1992-93 (6).

Nikita Kucherov (2-1—3), fresh off an 0-4—4 outing in Toronto on Saturday, recorded his 61st career road game with three or more points and broke a tie with Peter Stastny (60) for the fourth most by a player born outside North America in NHL history. Jaromir Jagr (81), Alex Ovechkin (70) and Jari Kurri (69) round out the top three.

Fans Treated to Goals Galore

The Sabres and Lightning produced the 16th game in NHL history, and 10th in the expansion era (since 1967-68) to feature both clubs combine for seven or more goals in multiple periods and first since the Red Wings and Blues on Nov. 25, 1992.

* Buffalo scored four power-play goals in a game, highlighted by Josh Doan’s go-ahead tally with 4:17 remaining in regulation, for the fourth time in the past 20 years.

* Tuch scored Buffalo’s NHL-best 10th shorthanded goal of the season and one of his team’s five special-teams tally of the game – tied for the franchise’s most in a single outing in since 1995-96, alongside Nov. 8, 2011 (5 vs. WPG) and March 30, 2007 (5 vs. NYI).

MANTHA TIES GAME TWICE, PENGUINS EARN THREE-GOAL COMEBACK WIN

After Boston took a 3-0 lead just over halfway through the game, Pittsburgh mounted a three-goal comeback victory thanks to two third-period tying tallies from Anthony Mantha and an overtime winner from Tommy Novak – his second of the season. The Penguins (32-17-14, 78 points), who improved to 38-19-11 in contests without both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin in the lineup (since 2006-07), retook second place in the Metropolitan Division from the Islanders (36-23-5, 77 points) and hold a game in hand.

* Mantha became the second Penguins player to score multiple game-tying goals in the third period of a game, joining Alex Kovalev (March 23, 2002 vs. PHI). He improved his point totals to 23-24—47 (63 GP) to tie Malkin (13-34—47) for second in team scoring behind only Crosby (27-32—59) and moved within three of his first career 50-point season.

McDAVID OILERS GAIN GROUND IN THE PACIFIC WITH WIN VS. GOLDEN KNIGHTS

Connor McDavid assisted on two of four Edmonton goals as the Oilers (31-25-8, 70 points) earned a crucial regulation win in Vegas against the Golden Knights (29-21-14, 72 points) and gained ground on the Pacific Division-leading Ducks (35-25-3, 73 points) , who also failed to collect a point in the standings on Sunday. McDavid, within six assists of 800 in his career, extended his road point streak to 18 games.

NEW AND RETURNING FACES TALLY ASSISTS AS COLORADO, DALLAS WIN VIA COMEBACK

Nazem Kadri (0-1—1) and Michael Bunting (0-1—1) both collected assists in their first game since being traded to the Avalanche and Stars, respectively, as both Central Division clubs claimed third-period comeback victories. Colorado and Dallas accounted for two of four games Sunday that featured a game-tying goal in the final frame.

*Kadri received a standing ovation from the fans at Ball Arena in his return to the organization and then recorded his first point in an Avalanche uniform since the overtime winner in Game 4 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Final.

* Bunting assisted on the Stars’ game-tying goal in the third period and Miro Heiskanen scored in overtime to help Dallas extend its point streak to 12 games (11-0-1), matching the fourth-longest run in franchise history and its longest since 2000-01 (13 GP). Heiskanen scored his third career overtime goal, which tied the third most by a defenseman in franchise history behind John Klingberg and Thomas Harley (both w/ 6).

Detailed Analysis

Post 1: Momacya (OK) – ML 4/1
Sired by Pass the Buck, this homebred filly broke her maiden impressively at Will Rogers Downs in February 2026, drawing clear by 2 lengths in a fast time (speed figure: 85). Her prior second showed tactical speed, and debut third at Remington Park was against tougher. Versatile stalker who benefits from the rail post on a speed-favoring track.

  • Jockey: R Diaz – Solid local rider with a 18% win rate at Will Rogers this meet; excels on frontrunners (22% in sprints). Diaz and Buehrer team up at 20%.
  • Trainer: M W Buehrer – Strong with Oklahoma-breds (19% win rate); improves fillies second off the win. Momacya’s works (4F in :47.2 on 3/4/26) indicate sharpness.
Strengths: Inside draw, proven at track. Weaknesses: May need pace to close into. Outlook: Strong contender; could wire if loose.

Post 2: Samantha Code (OK) – ML 7/2
By Code West, she placed third in a February allowance at Will Rogers when resuming, beaten narrowly after traffic (speed figure: 88). Broke maiden prior with a front-running score, and her December fourth was forgivable on a sloppy track. Expect her to press early in this spot.

  • Jockey: W Hamilton – Up-and-coming with 17% wins on dirt; good at rating for Biehler (25% together).
  • Trainer: M E Biehler – Consistent with young fillies (20% routes/sprints); targets Oklahoma-bred stakes. Samantha Code’s bullet work (5F in :59.0 on 3/2/26) suggests peak form.
Strengths: Recent class test, tactical speed. Weaknesses: Post may force wide early. Outlook: Live; value if overlooked.

Post 3: Elegant Okie (OK) – ML 6/1
Flat Out filly has limited starts but impressed with a debut win at Will Rogers in January (speed figure: 82), then a close second in February stretching out. Bred for speed, she could stalk from this post on fast dirt.

  • Jockey: L D Goncalves – Veteran with 21% wins at the track; strong on Young trainees (28%).
  • Trainer: S E Young – Top Oklahoma conditioner (23% with 3YOs); saddles three here. Elegant Okie’s drills (4F in :48.0 on 3/5/26) show readiness.
Strengths: Lightly raced upside. Weaknesses: Unproven in stakes. Outlook: Exotic player.

Post 4: Bailey Sioux (OK) – ML 6/1
Another Flat Out product, she broke maiden last out at Will Rogers in February by daylight (speed figure: 90), after a solid second at Remington. Consistent performer who handles fast tracks well.

  • Jockey: R E Eramia – Meet leader with 25% wins; excels in sprints (30% with Lee).
  • Trainer: M C Lee – Solid 18% with fillies; develops speed types. Bailey Sioux’s work (5F in :59.4 on 3/3/26) is sharp.
Strengths: Recent win momentum. Weaknesses: Class rise. Outlook: Upset potential.

Post 5: Gift of Grace (OK) – ML 8/1
Gift Box filly faded to fourth in a February allowance but won her maiden at Remington in December (speed figure: 84). Could improve second off the layoff with a mid-pack trip.

  • Jockey: L S Quinonez – Reliable 19% on dirt; pairs well with Trout (24%).
  • Trainer: C R Trout – Veteran with 17% stakes success; patient developer. Gift of Grace’s steady works (4F in :48.2 on 3/1/26) hint at bounce-back.
Strengths: Stamina edge if pace hot. Weaknesses: Inconsistent speed. Outlook: Longshot for board.

Post 6: Outtaherway (OK) – ML 3/1
By Maximus Mischief, she just missed in a February allowance at Will Rogers when fresh (speed figure: 92), after a maiden win and strong debut. Favorite with closing kick.

  • Jockey: D Cabrera – Top rider (22% wins); hot with Young (27%).
  • Trainer: S E Young – See above; his A-runner here. Outtaherway’s bullet (4F in :46.8 on 3/6/26) screams fitness.
Strengths: High figures, barn form. Weaknesses: Outer post may widen. Outlook: The one to beat.

Post 7: From the Top Rope (OK) – ML 5/1
Flat Out filly wired a February maiden at Will Rogers (speed figure: 87), improving from prior placings at Remington. Speed threat from outside.

  • Jockey: F Wethey Jr. – Experienced 16% in sprints; knows Young barn (20%).
  • Trainer: S E Young – See above; multiple chances. Works solid (5F in 1:00.0 on 3/4/26).
Strengths: Gate speed. Weaknesses: Distance test vs. class. Outlook: Pace setter.
