The New York Yankees announced today that they have invited LHP Rob Zastryzny to their 2025 Major League spring training.

Zastryzny, 32, has spent parts of six Major League seasons with several teams, including the Chicago Cubs (2016-18), New York Mets (2022), Los Angeles Angels (2022), Pittsburgh Pirates (2023), and Milwaukee Brewers (2024). Over his career, he has posted a 4-0 record with a 4.30 ERA (67.0 IP, 68 H, 39 R/32 ER, 31 BB, 54 K, 3 HR) in 54 appearances (five starts).

In 2024, Zastryzny made nine appearances (three starts) with Milwaukee, achieving a 1-0 record with a 1.17 ERA (7.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R/ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 0 HR). He spent the majority of last season with Triple-A Nashville, recording a 4-0 record, two saves, and a 3.03 ERA (29.2 IP, 20 H, 10 R/ER, 11 BB, 39 K, 3 HR) in 30 relief appearances.

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Zastryzny was originally selected by the Chicago Cubs in the second round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Missouri. His career has also included stints with the Los Angeles Dodgers (signed March 26, 2019), Baltimore Orioles (signed November 20, 2019), Miami Marlins (signed May 5, 2021), New York Mets (signed November 29, 2021), and Los Angeles Angels (claimed off waivers on August 25, 2022). He joined the Pittsburgh Pirates as a minor league free agent on December 7, 2022, and later signed with the Milwaukee Brewers on December 12, 2023. He was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Cubs on November 4, 2024.

The Yankees signed Zastryzny as a minor league free agent on February 16, 2025, inviting him to Major League spring training.
