FLUSHING, N.Y. – The New York Mets have announced the re-signing of outfielder Jesse Winker to a one-year contract.

Winker, 31, posted a slash line of .253/.360/.405 last season, hitting 23 doubles, 14 home runs, and recording 58 RBIs in a career-high 145 games. He split his time between the Washington Nationals and the Mets. In the postseason, Winker was impressive with a .318/.531/.636 slash line, adding one home run, two triples, and four RBIs in 10 games.
“We’re excited to bring Jesse back to the organization,” said David Stearns, President of Baseball Operations. “Jesse had an immediate impact on the club last year, contributing during crucial moments both in the regular season and postseason. We’re looking forward to adding his left-handed bat back in our lineup.”
Winker finished 11th in the National League with a .360 OBP and was sixth with a .327 (34-for-104) batting average with runners in scoring position last year.
The 6’2″, 210-pound outfielder slashed .258/.366/.422 with 17 doubles, 13 home runs, and 49 RBIs in 341 at-bats against right-handed pitching last season. Over his career, he has hit .275/.378/.462 with 103 doubles, 81 home runs, and 266 RBIs in 1,884 at-bats versus righties.
As a pinch-hitter, Winker has a career slash line of .306/.423/.565, with six home runs and 17 RBIs in 85 at-bats.
Throughout his eight major league seasons with the Reds, Mariners, Brewers, Nationals, and Mets, Winker has a career slash line of .262/.367/.437 with 122 doubles, 95 home runs, and 324 RBIs in 755 games. The Buffalo, NY native was an All-Star in 2021 when he hit .305/.394/.556 with 32 doubles, 24 home runs, and 71 RBIs in 110 games for Cincinnati.
