NBA Preview: Toronto Raptors (1-1) vs Minnesota Timberwolves (1-1)

Julius Randle has quickly found his rhythm with the Minnesota Timberwolves, shining in his first two games. He aims to keep the momentum going as he makes his home debut at Target Center against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night in front of an expected sellout crowd.

Minnesota split its first two road games, losing the opener to the Los Angeles Lakers before bouncing back with a win over the Sacramento Kings, thanks in large part to Randle’s 33-point performance.

The Raptors, looking for back-to-back wins, are fresh off a 115-107 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. Scottie Barnes led Toronto with 27 points, supported by Jakob Poeltl’s 19 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks. Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic praised the team’s collective effort and hopes to maintain that standard as they head to Minnesota.

Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo is also set to make his home debut. Both DiVincenzo and Randle joined the team following the trade of longtime fan favorite Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks just before the season began. DiVincenzo has averaged 9.5 points in his first two games with Minnesota.

Randle credits his recent success to teammate Anthony Edwards, who averages 29.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists, and commands significant defensive attention, creating opportunities for Randle and others.

Last season, the Timberwolves and Raptors each won on their home court. The Raptors took the first game 97-94 in Toronto, while the Timberwolves responded with a decisive 133-85 victory in Minneapolis.
