The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors have made significant trades in hopes of boosting their Western Conference playoff chances. The Lakers acquired Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks in a blockbuster deal that sent Anthony Davis to Dallas. Meanwhile, the Warriors worked out a trade for Jimmy Butler, sending Andrew Wiggins to the Miami Heat.

However, neither Doncic nor Butler will be available for Thursday night’s game when the Warriors visit the Lakers.
Lakers’ New Addition: Luka Doncic Doncic, who has been sidelined since Christmas Day due to a calf injury, participated in a 5-on-5 game with reserves and coaches on Wednesday. Lakers coach JJ Redick mentioned that Doncic could make his debut either Saturday against the Indiana Pacers or Monday against the Utah Jazz.
Warriors’ New Addition: Jimmy Butler The trade involving Butler still needs NBA approval. Warriors coach Steve Kerr expressed his sadness over losing Wiggins and suggested moving the trade deadline to the All-Star break. Kerr informed his players of the deal just before tipoff, adding to the emotional challenge of their recent loss to the Utah Jazz.
Recent Performances The Lakers have won three straight games, including a dominant 122-97 victory over the Clippers, where LeBron James scored 26 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. The Warriors, on the other hand, gave up 75 second-half points in their recent loss to the Jazz, collapsing in the final minutes.
Upcoming Matchup The Lakers are 2-0 against the Warriors this season, including a 118-108 victory in San Francisco on Jan. 25. Los Angeles is looking to extend their winning streak and solidify their position in the playoff race.
