NBA Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers (21-3) vs Miami Heat (11-10)

The Cleveland Cavaliers, boasting the NBA’s best record at 21-3, are set to face the Miami Heat on Sunday evening.

Heat center Bam Adebayo, interviewed on the court Saturday night after a 121-111 home win over the Phoenix Suns, shared his thoughts about facing Cleveland.

The Heat will need to rest as much as possible before taking on the Cavaliers, who began this season with an impressive 15 straight wins.

Cleveland became just the fourth team in NBA history to start a season 15-0, and they are only the third franchise to achieve this feat since 1950.

The Cavaliers lead the NBA in scoring, averaging 121.8 points per game, and have scored at least 101 points in every game this season.

Meanwhile, the Heat, currently 11-10, have not managed to get more than one game above .500.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra emphasized the need for his team to play with a sense of urgency to climb the standings, as they are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference.

Spoelstra also praised Adebayo, who had game highs in points (25), rebounds (12), and assists (eight) on Saturday. Although Adebayo’s scoring is down this season, Spoelstra highlighted his overall performance.

Tyler Herro has been Miami’s top scorer this season, averaging 23.8 points per game, but in the fourth quarter on Saturday, it was Jimmy Butler who took charge, scoring nine straight points in the final five minutes.

The Cavaliers, on Saturday, defeated the host Charlotte Hornets 116-102.

Cavaliers power forward Evan Mobley scored a career-high 41 points, adding 10 rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and one steal in 34 minutes. He made 16 of 23 shots from the floor, including 6 of 8 on three-pointers, and hit 3 of 4 free throws.

This season, Donovan Mitchell leads the Cavaliers in scoring (24.2 points per game) and steals (1.5), Darius Garland leads in assists (6.5), Jarrett Allen in rebounds (10.5), and Mobley tops Cleveland in blocks (1.6).

In other words, this is a balanced team.

Understandably, the Cavaliers are particularly excited about Mobley’s recent performance.
