Charles Oliveira is 34-9-1 with 31 finishes. In the UFC, he holds the record for the most finishes (20), as well as for the most wins by submission (16). The Brazilian reached the peak of his career in 2021 when he beat Michael Chandler by TKO in the battle for the UFC Lightweight title.
He defended the title against Dustin Poirier who he beat by submission. He beat Justin Gaethje as well but was stripped of the title due to missing weight. The championship belt was left vacated, but he got a chance to get it back in the fight with Islam Makhachev.
Unfortunately for Oliveira, the Dagestani fighter beat him with his own weapon – submission. Since then, Oliveira fought only one more time. It happened last year when we saw him beat Beneil Dariush by submission.
Arman Tsarukyan looks incredibly ripped ahead of UFC 300. He’s probably in his best shape ever after a camp at Europe’s highest mountain, Mount Elbrus, where he trained with legendary Fedor Emelianenko.
He looks big and strong, but what about his fighting skills? Well, this guy is a well-rounded fighter with fantastic striking and amazing wrestling/grappling skills. He’s 21-3 overall with his only loss inside the distance happening back in 2015.
More recently, he lost to Islam Makhachev by decision after a real battle inside the Octagon. In fact, many believe that he’s the one who caused the most problems for Makhachev since he joined the UFC.
Tsarukyan’s most recent loss happened against Mateusz Gamrot in a very close battle that was awarded the Fight of the Night award by the UFC. Charles Oliveira is one of only a few UFC fighters with a 3rd-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which is another proof of how dangerous this guy is. He has what it takes to finish Tsarukyan, especially if he goes all-in at UFC 300.
