Michigan Gaming Control Board Cracks Down on 14 Offshore Gambling Operators

LANSING, MI – In a decisive move to safeguard Michigan’s gaming industry and protect residents from illegal wagering, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued cease-and-desist orders to 14 offshore gambling operators unlawfully targeting players within the state.

The platforms—BetFlip, BetMania, Casino Castle, Casino Extreme, Casobet Casino, EmuCasino, Golden Lion, Gossip Slots, Irish Luck Casino, Juicy Stakes.com, Juicy Stakes.eu, Lotus Asia Casino, Red Lion Casino, and SlotGems Casino—were found to be offering internet gaming and sports betting without securing the necessary approvals required under Michigan law.

Enforcing Legal Boundaries

“These unauthorized sites operate outside the law, providing no security or accountability for Michigan players,” said Henry Williams, MGCB Executive Director. “Our enforcement actions remain firm and focused. We will continue to shut down illegal gambling operators that undermine our regulated market and expose residents to unnecessary risks.”

Following an extensive investigation, the MGCB determined that the cited offshore entities were actively soliciting wagers on casino games and sports betting, in direct violation of:

  • The Lawful Internet Gaming Act
  • The Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act
  • The Michigan Penal Code

Consumer Protection Concerns

Illegal gambling platforms often operate without essential consumer safeguards. Players engaging with these sites face serious risks, including:

  • Potential fraud and loss of funds
  • Delayed or denied payouts
  • Lack of responsible gaming tools
  • No regulatory oversight or dispute resolution options

Next Steps & Enforcement Actions

Each operator has been ordered to halt all gaming activity involving Michigan residents immediately. They have 14 days to comply or face escalated legal consequences in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

Public Awareness & Reporting Illegal Gambling

The MGCB urges residents to remain vigilant. Anyone with information regarding illegal gambling activities can report tips anonymously by calling 1-888-314-2682 or emailing MIGamblingTip@michigan.gov (non-anonymous).
