OMAHA, Neb. – Nebraska’s professional volleyball team, the Omaha Supernovas, put on a masterful performance on Sunday afternoon at the CHI Health Center, sweeping the San Diego Mojo (3-7) in straight sets: 25-21, 25-19, 25-18. This marks the Supernovas’ third consecutive victory and boosts their record to 7-3.
The Supernovas, who have won five of their last six matches, attracted an impressive crowd of 12,768 fans, making it the second most-attended U.S. Pro Volleyball match in history. Omaha’s 2025 home matches now rank among the top six in overall attendance, including the three largest crowds. With Sunday’s turnout, the Supernovas hold the top 11 most-attended U.S. Pro Volleyball matches.
Outside hitter Reagan Cooper led the offensive charge for Omaha, scoring a match-high 11 points with 10 kills on a .444 hitting percentage. She also contributed six digs and a block. Fellow pin hitter Brooke Nuneviller added nine kills and recorded her first ace of the season. Opposite Emily Londot, making her third career pro start, posted seven kills, eight digs, and three blocks, totaling 10 points for the day.
Middle blocker Kayla Caffey impressed with five kills, two blocks, and two digs, while also delivering a standout performance from the service line, including an ace. Kaitlyn Hord recorded three kills and added four blocks to maintain her league-leading block total. Rookie Toyosi Onabanjo also made an impact late in the third set, securing three kills on three swings.
Setter Natalia Valentín-Anderson orchestrated the attack with 34 assists and 10 digs for a double-double, which also included three kills. Libero and 2025 PVF All-Star Camila Gómez finished with nine digs and two assists.
As a team, the Supernovas hit .299 with 42 kills and only 10 hitting errors. They also posted 10 blocks and two aces. San Diego was led by Kayla Lund, who had a team-high 10 kills on a .320 clip with nine digs. The Mojo was limited to a .170 team hitting percentage with three blocks and one ace.
The Supernovas will face San Diego again on Thursday, February 20, this time on the road at Viejas Arena, with the first serve set for 9:05 p.m. CST. The match will be streamed on VBTV. Omaha’s next home matches will be against the Orlando Valkyries on Thursday, February 27 at 7 p.m. CST, followed by a rematch with the Indy Ignite on Sunday, March 2 at 3 p.m. CST.

- The Supernovas earned their league-leading fifth sweep of the season. They recorded six sweeps during the entire 2024 campaign.
- Head coach Laura “Bird” Kuhn achieved her 100th career win as a head coach. She previously won 76 matches at Texas A&M from 2018-2022 before joining Omaha, where she has secured 24 victories, including the 2024 PVF title.
- Reagan Cooper hit a season-high .444, marking the fifth time in the last six matches she recorded a clip of .345 or above.

Set 1: Omaha started strong with Kayla Caffey delivering the first kill, but San Diego responded with kills from Lauren Page and Kayla Lund. The teams traded points, with Omaha pulling ahead 10-6 after a series of kills by Londot and contributions from Nuneviller and Valentín-Anderson. San Diego attempted a comeback, but Omaha held firm, closing the set 25-21 with key plays from Nuneviller and Londot.
Set 2: Omaha dominated early, racing to a 4-0 lead and maintaining control throughout the set. Despite a push from San Diego, Omaha extended their lead to 16-9, forcing multiple timeouts from the Mojo. The Supernovas secured the set 25-19 with strong performances from Caffey and Cooper.
