LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated outfielder Teoscar Hernández from the injured list after a 12-game absence due to a right hamstring strain. In a corresponding move, the team has optioned James Outman to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Hernández Returns to Dodgers’ Lineup

Hernández, 32, made a brief one-game rehab stint, going 0-for-1 with a run scored before rejoining the major league squad. Prior to his injury, he had been one of the league’s most productive hitters, posting a .315 batting average, nine home runs, and an MLB-leading 34 RBIs in 33 games this season.

Since joining the Dodgers in 2024, Hernández has played 187 games, tallying 42 home runs and 133 RBIs. Across his career—including stints with the Houston Astros (2016-17), Toronto Blue Jays (2017-22), Seattle Mariners (2023), and Dodgers (2024-present)—he has appeared in 998 games, batting .264 with 201 home runs and 606 RBIs. He re-signed with Los Angeles on January 3, 2025.

Outman Heads to Triple-A

Outman, 27, played in nine games for the Dodgers this season, hitting .125 with two home runs and four RBIs. In 2024, he appeared in 53 games, collecting four home runs and 11 RBIs.

Over four seasons in Los Angeles, Outman has produced a .227/.333/.407 slash line, hitting 30 home runs with 88 RBIs. He was originally selected by the Dodgers in the seventh round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of Sacramento State University.

Hernández’s return bolsters the Dodgers’ lineup as they continue their push in the National League West race.
