LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated left-handed reliever Tanner Scott from the injured list and optioned right-hander Matt Sauer to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Scott, 31, returns after missing time since July 22 due to left elbow inflammation. He made one rehab appearance with Oklahoma City, striking out two in a scoreless inning. In his first season with the Dodgers, Scott has appeared in 47 games, posting a 1–2 record, 4.14 ERA, and converting 19 of 26 save opportunities.
Now in his ninth MLB season, Scott has pitched for Baltimore (2017–21), Miami (2022–24), San Diego (2024), and Los Angeles, compiling a career record of 32–26 with a 3.63 ERA, 74 saves, and 536 strikeouts across 430 appearances. He was originally selected by the Orioles in the sixth round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Howard College (TX).
Sauer, 26, allowed two runs on three hits over two innings in Thursday’s game. He’s logged a 2–1 record with a 6.37 ERA across 10 appearances this season. The right-hander debuted in 2024 with the Kansas City Royals, posting a 7.71 ERA in 14 games. At Triple-A Oklahoma City, Sauer has gone 5–4 with a 4.86 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 76 innings.
Originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the second round of the 2017 MLB Draft, Sauer is a native of Santa Maria, California, and a graduate of Ernest Righetti High School.
