LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers activated catcher Austin Barnes from the injured list and optioned catcher Hunter Feduccia.
Barnes, 34, returns from the injured list after missing eight games with a left toe fracture. He has played in 34 games for the Dodgers this season, hitting .241 with one homer and eight RBI. He has been with the team 10 seasons, hitting 35 homers and driving in 157 in 589 career games. He was originally drafted by the Miami Marlins in the ninth round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft out of Arizona State University.
Feduccia, 27, recorded his first career hit on Sunday afternoon and went 1-for-2 with a walk in his second stint with the club. On the season, he is 1-for-3 in two games played for the Dodgers. He returns to Oklahoma City where he has appeared in 73 games, batting .282 with six homers and 46 RBI this season. He has been with the organization six seasons, batting .267 with 46 homers and 252 RBI in 438 minor league games. The backstop was drafted in the 12th round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of Louisiana State University.
