LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today announced the acquisition of right-handed pitcher Noah Davis from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for cash considerations. To create space on the 40-man roster, the team has transferred right-hander Emmet Sheehan to the 60-day injured list.

Davis, 27, is set to join the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets following the transaction. Last season, he made nine appearances for the Colorado Rockies, recording 15 strikeouts over 20.1 innings while allowing 13 runs. During Spring Training this year, Davis showcased his potential with Boston, pitching in four Grapefruit League games and striking out nine in 9.1 innings while achieving a stellar 0.86 WHIP and a .206 batting average against.
