The Netherlands Gambling Authority (KSA) has issued an official warning to SCGO Limited—operating in the Dutch market as Vbet—after identifying multiple shortcomings related to the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Prevention) Act (Wwft).

The regulator conducts continuous, risk‑based monitoring of licensed operators’ compliance with the Wwft. As part of that oversight, the KSA initiated a targeted investigation into Vbet in April 2025, requesting a range of materials including client files, internal AML documentation, and the operator’s risk assessment. The review uncovered several deficiencies.

According to the KSA, Vbet failed to properly implement its company‑wide risk assessment. The assessment did not clearly outline the gross risks identified by the operator and lacked version control, preventing regulators from determining how risks were evaluated, whether mitigation measures were effective, or if the assessment reflected current conditions.

Additional weaknesses were found in Vbet’s monitoring of player transactions, the alignment of its internal policies and procedures, and the documentation of customer risk profiles. Collectively, these gaps reduce the effectiveness of the operator’s anti‑money‑laundering controls.

Vbet cooperated throughout the investigation and proactively drafted a remediation plan. The operator has also committed to implementing the KSA’s recommendations.
