Hamilton Tiger-Cats extend Keaton Bruggeling, add Receiver/Returner Xavier Malone

HAMILTON – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Monday that they have extended National wide receiver Keaton Bruggeling and signed American receiver and return specialist Xavier Malone.

Bruggeling, 27, joined Hamilton as a free agent ahead of the 2025 season. The six‑foot‑three, 205‑pound St. Catharines native appeared in nine games last year, recording seven receptions for 63 yards. A former 22nd overall pick in the 2022 CFL Draft, he previously played 31 games over three seasons with the Ottawa REDBLACKS, posting eight catches for 83 yards and one touchdown.

Malone, 25, arrives after spending the 2025 season with the UFL’s Michigan Panthers. The five‑foot‑seven, 182‑pound product of Mound Bayou, Mississippi also spent time with the Atlanta Falcons (2023) and Toronto Argonauts (2024). In college, he starred at Northeast Mississippi Community College and Henderson State University, where he totaled 175 receptions for 3,045 yards and 23 touchdowns across 36 games.
