SAN FRANCISCO – Prior to tonight’s game at San Francisco, the Chicago White Sox announced the following two roster moves:
- Added to the 26-man active roster (1): RHP Enyel De Los Santos;
- Optioned to Class AAA Charlotte (1): RHP Matt Foster.
De Los Santos, 28, was claimed off waivers from New York-AL on Saturday. He has gone 1-2 with a 5.79 ERA (30 ER/46.2 IP), 53 strikeouts and one save in 49 combined relief appearances this season between the Yankees and San Diego. De Los Santos was acquired by the Yankees from the Padres on July 30 as part of a three-player deal.
De Los Santos, 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, is 14-6 with a 4.52 ERA (116 ER/231.0 IP) and 248 strikeouts in 214 career games (three starts) over six MLB seasons with Philadelphia (2018-19, ‘21), Pittsburgh (2021), Cleveland (2022-23), San Diego (2024) and the Yankees (2024). He will wear uniform No. 62.
De Los Santos originally was signed by Seattle as an international free agent on July 17, 2014 out of San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic.
Foster, 29, was reinstated from the 60-day injured list on Friday and made his season debut that night at Houston, earning a hold after pitching a 1-2-3 eighth inning.
