Chicago White Sox Claim Brandon Eisert off Waivers from Tampa Bay; Designate Steven Wilson for Assignment

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have claimed left-handed pitcher Brandon Eisert off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays. To make room for Eisert on the 40-man roster, the White Sox designated right-hander Steven Wilson for assignment.

Eisert, 27, spent most of last season with the Toronto organization, where he recorded a 4-2 record with a 3.86 ERA (23 ER/53.2 IP) and 66 strikeouts (11.07 per 9.0 IP) over 42 appearances (including four starts) with Class AAA Buffalo. He made his major-league debut with the Blue Jays on June 17 against Boston, pitching 2.0 scoreless innings, and finished with a 4.05 ERA (3 ER/6.2 IP) in three relief appearances overall.

Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 205 pounds, Eisert was acquired by Tampa Bay from Toronto on January 23 in exchange for cash considerations. He was originally selected by the Blue Jays in the 18th round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft.

Wilson, 26, appeared in 40 games for the White Sox in 2024, his first season with the club, posting a 1-6 record with a 5.71 ERA (22 ER/34.2 IP) and 34 strikeouts.

Following the waiver claim, the White Sox 40-man roster remains at 40.
