DALLAS – The Chicago White Sox have signed veteran outfielder Mike Tauchman to a one-year, $1.95-million contract.
Tauchman, 34, played the 2024 season with the Chicago Cubs, hitting .248/.357/.366 with 12 doubles, seven home runs, 29 RBI, 50 runs scored, and 47 walks over a career-high 109 games. He ranked seventh in the major leagues with an average of one walk every 7.29 plate appearances (minimum 300 PA), and appeared in 51 games in right field, 16 in left field, and 15 in center field.
Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 220 pounds, Tauchman has a career batting line of .241/.344/.374 with 60 doubles, 32 home runs, 155 RBI, 207 runs scored, and 183 walks over parts of seven major league seasons with the Colorado Rockies (2017-18), New York Yankees (2019-21), San Francisco Giants (2021), and the Cubs (2023-24). Since the start of the 2023 season, he ranks sixth in the majors with an average of one walk every 7.29 plate appearances (minimum 750 PA).
A native of Palatine, Illinois, Tauchman was originally selected by the Rockies in the 10th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.
The White Sox’s 40-man roster now stands at 39 players.
