LEAGUE DEFENSIVE BACKS CLIMBING FCS ACTIVE LEADER LISTS

Lafayette Sr. DB Saiku White ranks seventh among FCS active leaders with eight career interceptions after picking off a pass in the Leopards’ 28-23 victory over Fordham in Week Six. Fordham Sr. DB Nahil Perkins is tied for 17th among the FCS active leaders with seven career interceptions. Perkins is tied for the Patriot League lead with three interceptions this season. He is also sixth among active FCS players with 32 career passes defended, behind Lafayette Sr. DB Gabe DuBois, who is fourth in the FCS with 34. DuBois has broken up 10 passes in the Leopards’ last three games, including five in a Week Six win at Fordham. DuBois and Perkins are tied for third in the FCS with 1.7 passes defended per game this season.

THREE AMONG FCS TOTAL TACKLES TOP 10

Colgate Jr. LB Cole Kozlowski, the reigning Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, leads the League and is third in the FCS in total tackles per game, averaging 11.1 through seven games. Two more Patriot League linebackers are among the FCS top 10 in the category. Bucknell So. LB Gavin Willis is seventh in the FCS with 10.1 tackles per game after a career-high 19 tackles against Cornell (Oct. 19). Holy Cross Sr. LB Frankie Monte is third in the League and ninth in the FCS with 9.6 tackles per game. Monte recorded 16 stops vs. Fordham (Oct. 12)

TWO LEAGUE QBS AMONG FCS PASSING EFFICIENCY LEADERS

Holy Cross Sr. QB Joe Pesansky and Bucknell Sr. QB Ralph Rucker IV are among the NCAA DI FCS Top 25 in pass efficiency through eight weeks. Pesansky has helped the Crusaders to a 2-0 start in League play and leads the League in pass efficiency (149.3). He is also 13th in the FCS with 14 passing touchdowns. Rucker is second in the League in pass efficiency (147.2) and leads the League and 25th in the FCS in points responsible for per game (13.0 ppg)

COLGATE’S SAUNDERS RANKS WITH FCS RECEPTIONS LEADERS

Colgate Jr. WR Treyvhon Saunders leads the Patriot League and is fourth in the FCS with 7.3 receptions per game. In Week Five, he tied the League’s single-game record with 16 receptions in a loss at Penn. Saunders matched former Lehigh AllAmerican WR Troy Pelletier, who set the record with 16 grabs against Georgetown on Oct. 14, 2017. Saunders’s previous career-high was 10 receptions against the Hoyas in 2023. The FCS single-game record is 24 receptions, shared by Chas Gessner (Brown, 2002) and Jerry Rice (Miss. Val. St., 1983).

HOYAS RANK THIRD IN FCS IN SACKS PER GAME

Georgetown’s defense leads the Patriot League and is third in the FCS, averaging 3.0 sacks per game through seven games. The Hoyas’ 21 sacks have been for a loss of 121 yards, including four sacks for 17 yards in a 17-0 victory at Lafayette in Week Seven. Three Hoyas are among the League’s leaders in the category with So. DL Cooper Blomstrom’s 6.0 sacks leads the League. He is second in the League and 13th in the FCS with 0.86 sacks per game. Gr. LB David Ealey III (0.50 spg) and Sr. DL Cole Pascucci (0.33 spg) are among the League’s top 10 in sacks

BUCKNELL’S CADDEN MAKING HISTORY ON SPECIAL TEAMS

Bucknell So. WR/RS TJ Cadden has already returned two punts for touchdowns this season to lead the FCS and earn a share of the Patriot League’s single-season record with Holy Cross’s Devin Haskins (2022) and Fordham’s Dan McGrath (2002). In Week Five against Lehigh, Cadden tied the mark for the longest kickoff return for a touchdown with a 100-yard score in the second quarter of their double-overtime win against the Mountain Hawks. The two-time Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week shares the mark with six former League student-athletes

PATRIOT LEAGUE FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jayden Clerveaux, Holy Cross, So., RB, Everett, Mass./Williston Northampton

*Clerveaux rushed for a career-high 165 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries in Holy Cross’s 35-34 loss at Harvard. *The sophomore running back scored two consecutive touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including a two-yard score with 1:44 left in the game to put the Crusaders in front, 28-27. *The sophomore running back eclipsed his career-high of 159 yards from last week’s game against Fordham and ranks fourth in the League with 537 rushing yards and third with six touchdowns.

PATRIOT LEAGUE FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Cole Kozlowski, Colgate, Jr., LB, Spring Lake, N.J./Manasquan

*Kozlowski recorded 13 tackles, including five solo stops, to lead Colgate’s defense in a 38-28 victory against Georgetown. *The junior linebacker helped the Raiders hold the Hoyas to 143 rushing yards. *He recorded his fifth double-digit tackles game of the season and leads the Patriot League with 78 total tackles.

PATRIOT LEAGUE FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jariyah Sawyer, Colgate, Jr., WR/RS, Tampa, Fla./Plant City

*Sawyer returned three kickoffs for 104 yards in Colgate’s 38-28 victory over Georgetown. *The junior return specialist helped the Raiders’ offense begin drives at their 40-yard line or better with two kickoff returns of more than 35 yards. *The junior also caught three passes for 17 yards, including a third-down conversion on a scoring drive in the third quarter.

PATRIOT LEAGUE FOOTBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Tariq Thomas, Bucknell, Fr., RB, Springfield, Mass./Springfield Central

*Thomas rushed for a career-high 94 yards on nine carries for an average of 10.4 yards per carry in Bucknell’s loss against Cornell. *The freshman running back had a career-long rush of 47 yards in the fourth quarter. *He has totaled 228 rushing yards in the Bison’s last three games.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Marco Maldonado, Colgate, Jr., RB, Chicago, Ill./Loyola Academy (Ill.)

*Maldonado rushed for a career-high 112 yards on 14 carries in Colgate’s 38-28 victory over Georgetown to improve to 1-1 in League play. The Chicago native rushed for a 25-yard in the third quarter to put the Raiders in front by two touchdowns. He became the first Raiders to rush for 100 yards in a game this season.

Jimmy Kibble, Georgetown, Jr., WR, Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County

*Kibble caught five passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Hoyas’ offense in a 38-28 loss at Colgate on Saturday. The junior wide receiver opened the scoring with an 18-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter, then added a 52-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter to bring GU within seven points.

Patrick Ryan, Georgetown, Sr., P/K, Randolph, N.J./Delbarton

*Ryan punted four times for an average of 43.0 yards, including a long of 51 yards. The senior also connected on all four PAT attempts in the Hoyas’ loss at Colgate.

GianCarlo Rufo, Georgetown, So., LB, Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School

*Rufo posted 13 tackles, including 10 solo stops, to lead Georgetown’s defense in a 38-28 loss at Colgate on Saturday.

Jake Jarmolowich, Holy Cross, Sr., FS, Summit, N.J./Delbarton

*Jarmolowich recorded a team-high eight tackles, including five solo tackles, in Holy Cross’s 35-34 loss at Harvard. The senior safety made a fourth-down stop in Harvard territory to set up a Crusaders’ scoring drive.

Jamar Curtis, Lafayette, Jr., RB, Waldorf, Md./St. John’s College

*Curtis rushed for a season-high 156 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries in Lafayette’s 31-17 victory over Sacred Heart. The junior running back recorded the 12th 100-yard rushing game of his career and moved into seventh place in Lafayette history in career rushing yards (2,534) and rushing touchdowns (24). He also caught five passes for a team-high 42 yards.

Jack Simonetta, Lafayette, So., PK, Gotha, Fla./West Orange

*Simonetta connected on all four PAT attempts and hit a field goal from 23 yards in the second quarter in Lafayette’s 31-17 win over Sacred Heart.

• Sr. QB Michael Hardyway completed 21-of-39 passes for 214 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. • So. WR TJ Cadden finished with seven catches for a team-high 84 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. • Fr. RB Tariq Thomas rushed for 94 yards on nine carries, and Fr. RB Logan Bush rushed for a three-yard touchdown in the second quarter for his first collegiate score. • Hardyway also threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Sam Milligan early in the fourth quarter for Bucknell’s final score of the game. • So. LB Gavin Willis posted a career-high 19 tackles and 1.0 TFL to lead the Bison defense. • Jr. CB Terian Williams II recorded 10 tackles, and Jr. CB Aaron Davis intercepted his Patriot League-leading fourth pass of the season. Jr. CB Roman Pearson also had an interception.

• Four different Colgate players rushed for touchdowns to lead the Raiders to a 38-28 victory over Georgetown in their first League victory of the season. • Jr. RB Marco Maldonado rushed for a career-high 112 yards on 14 carries, including a 25-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to give Colgate a two-touchdown lead. • So. RB Chris Gee rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown to help Colgate total 272 yards on the ground. • Fy. QB Aleks Sitkowski and Sr. RB Brendan Cassamajor also rushed for touchdowns in the Raiders’ win. • So. QB Jake Stearney completed 14-of23 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown pass to Jr. WR Brady Hutchison. Hutchison finished with 66 yards on three receptions and Jr. WR Treyvhon Saunders caught seven passes for 68 yards. • Jr. LB Cole Kozlowski led the Raiders’ defense with 13 tackles and So. • Sr. LB James Conway recorded a game-high 17 tackles and 1.0 TFL. His 17 tackles is tied for the League’s single-game high this season. • Conway is 15 tackles shy of tying the Patriot League career record for total tackles (432), set by Holy Cross’s Jacob Dobbs in 2023. • Sr. RB Julius Loughridge finished with 52 yards and a one-yard third-quarter touchdown run on 18 carries. • Jr. QB Jack Capaldi threw for 199 yards, and Gr. WR Mekai Felton caught two passes for 53 yards. • Fr. PK Bennett Henderson was 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts, connecting from 43, 52 and 37 yards. He also made his only PAT attempt. His 52-yard field goal was the longest by a Patriot League kicker this season. • Gr. LB Jackson Barletta added 11 tackles for the Rams’ defense. • Sr. DL Matt Jaworski added six tackles and 2.0 TFLs, and Fr. DB Boogie Owens had four tackles and his first collegiate interception.

Kibble is second in the Patriot League in receiving yards per game (83.9) and fourth in receptions per game (5.1). • Sr. WR Cam Pygatt added 61 receiving yards and a touchdown on six catches. RB Jayden Clerveaux rushed for a career-high 165 yards, and two fourth-quarter touchdowns on 27 carries. Clerveaux has earned Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors in the last two weeks. • Jr. RB Jamar Curtis rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries to lead Lafayette to a 31-17 victory over Sacred Heart. • Curtis also added a team-high 42 receiving yards on five receptions. The Patriot League Preseason Offensive Player of the Year scored on the Leopards’ first drive of the game, then found the end zone again early in the second quarter to lead a Lafayette ground attack that totaled 297 rushing yards. • So. RB Troy Bruce added 83 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. • Jr. QB Dean DeNobile completed 9-of-15 passes for 84 yards and rushed for 10 yards on five carries, including a fourth-quarter rushing touchdown. • Sr. S Saiku White recorded a team-high seven tackles and a pass breakup. • Jr. LB Bryson Bright added four tackles and one sack.
