  • NC State and Virginia played every year from 1960 to 2003 but have met just six times since 2004. • NC State offensive line coach Garret Tujague spent the past seven seasons on the Cavaliers staff, coaching the offensive line and serving as recruiting coordinator. • NC State offensive coordinator Robert Anae used to hold that same position at Virginia. He was the OC under Bronco Mendenhall from 2016-21. • Virginia offensive coordinator Des Kitchings used to hold that same position at NC State.   • Two programs accounting for 13 ACC Football Championship Game appearances and 11 ACC titles over the last 14 years will square off when the RV/23 Clemson Tigers and No. 4/3 Florida State Seminoles meet in Death Valley. • Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney enters the game with a 99-20 all-time record in ACC regular season play. With a win on Saturday, he would join Florida State’s Bobby Bowden (117) as the only head coaches in conference history to win 100 regular-season conference games as ACC head coaches. • FSU has won nine games, the longest active streak in the ACC and the fourth-longest active streak in the country. • FSU has scored at least 30 points in nine straight games, the longest active streak in the ACC, the second-longest active streak in the nation, and the program’s longest 30-point stretch since the 2013 national championship season. • The Tigers have won seven straight over the Seminoles, including a 34-28 win last year in Tallahassee, Fla.

  • Virginia Tech returns to the road for the second straight week as the Hokies take on Marshall for the first time since 2018. • The Hokies have won nine straight over the Thundering Herd but are in search of their first road win of the season. • Redshirt sophomore QB Kyron Drones replaced an injured Grant Wells and was 19-of-32 for 190 yards and ran for 74 yards on 22 carries in his first career start last week at Rutgers. • Marshall is 2-0 this season and is coming off an open week after beating East Carolina 31-13 on Sept. 9. • The Thundering Herd defense has allowed just three touchdowns all season, one rushing and two passing, and has held teams to an average of just 284.5 yards of total offense per game this year.

  • Syracuse will look to wrap up its non-conference slate with a win over Army on Saturday and post its first unbeaten non-conference slate since 1993 (3-0-1). A victory would give Syracuse its best non-conference record since it joined the BIG EAST in 1991. • Syracuse will try to start the campaign with four straight victories for the second consecutive year and third time since 2018 with a win over the Black Knights.
  • Army is coming off a 37-29 road win at UTSA last week and has outscored its opponents 94-29 over the last two games after suffering a 17-13 loss at ULM on Sept. 2. • The Orange have won each of their past 14 contests against opponents from the state of New York. The team’s last loss against a program from New York came against Army West Point in 1986. • Amy announced an extension for head coach Jeff Monken this week, as he has led the Black Knights to a 66-50 record in now his 10th season.

The two teams played for 12 consecutive seasons from 1992-2003, when the two teams were members of the Big East. • Following the win over Bethune-Cookman last Thursday, Sept. 14, Miami is off to a 3-0 start to the season for the firs ttime since 2020. • Temple is 2-1 on the season under second-year head coach Stan Drayton with wins over Akron (24-21) and Norfolk State (41-9). • The last time the two teams met was a 34-3 victory for Miami at Lincoln Financial Field in 2005, as tight end Greg Olsen led the way with two receiving touchdowns and wide receiver Devin Hester returned a punt for a TD.

  • The Blue Devils climbed to No. 18 in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches’ polls this week, marking their highest national ranking since Nov. 8, 1994. • UConn is playing the second of three ACC opponents this season, having lost to NC State 24-14 in the season opener back on Aug. 31. The Huskies will play at Boston College on Saturday, Oct. 28. • The Huskies have lost five straight games dating back to last season, with their last win a 36-33 victory over No. 19 Liberty on Nov. 12, 2022.

BC is the only team in FBS with every game decided by three points or less and one of three teams (FIU and UTSA) with all games decided by one possession. • The Cardinals moved to 3-0 for the first time since 2016 with a 21-14 over Indiana last weekend in Indianapolis. • Jeff Brohm is the fourth Louisville head football coach to begin his UofL career 3-0, joining Tom King, Frank Camp, and Bobby Petrino.

    (5) and second-fewest penalty yards (65) in the nation across their first three games. Last week, GT committed zero penalties at Ole Miss for just the eighth time in program history.
