CFB-D2: Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Week 3 Release and Previews

The SIAC will participate in seven matchups this week, with five games televised/streamed nationally. Here’s a list of the matchups and where to watch the games.

CLARK ATLANTA AT FLORIDA MEMORIAL – HBCU+
Saturday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. ET
Sunshine Showdown

Clark Atlanta, with its best start since 2017 at 2-0, will take on Florida Memorial in the 2024 Sunshine Showdown at Betty T. Ferguson Stadium in Miami Gardens.

FMU is facing its second consecutive SIAC opponent in Clark Atlanta after defeating Edward Waters 31-21 last weekend.

FORT VALLEY STATE VS. KENTUCKY STATE – TheGrio
Saturday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. ET

Fort Valley State returns to action at home against Kentucky State in Wildcat Stadium after a bye week. 

Both teams are still in search of their first win of the season.

MOREHOUSE VS. HOWARD – PEACOCK
Saturday, Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. ET
HBCU NY Classic

Morehouse, following a 37-13 loss to Johnson C. Smith, will face Howard University in the third annual HBCU NY Classic at MetLife Stadium.

In 2022, Howard shut out the Maroon Tigers 31-0 at the HBCU NY Classic, despite Morehouse’s defense allowing zero points in the first half.

BENEDICT VS. LANE – ESPN+
Saturday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. ET
 
Benedict will begin SIAC play after a week one bye, hosting Lane at Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.

Last week, the Dragons fell to Jackson State 58-7 on the road.

SAVANNAH STATE VS. CENTRAL STATE – ESPN+
Saturday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. ET
 
Savannah State, after a 42-10 loss to Southern, will face Central State at Theodore A. Wright Stadium in their home opener.

This game marks Central State’s third consecutive week on the road after being shut out 58-0 against Grand Valley State last week.
 
The Marauders and Tigers alike are looking for their first win of the season.

EDWARD WATERS AT ALCORN STATE – No Stream Available

Edward Waters, following a 31-21 loss to Florida Memorial, will take on Alcorn State at Spinks-Casem Stadium.

ALLEN AT LIVINGSTONE – No Stream Available
Saturday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. ET
 
Allen, coming off a 26-22 loss to Clark Atlanta, will face CIAA foe Livingstone at Alumni Memorial Stadium this weekend.

The last time the teams met in 2021, the Yellow Jackets defeated Livingstone 34-32 with a game-winning drive.
