Four rounds of #NHLStats as the Hurricanes pursue their second Stanley Cup and first since 2006:
* The Hurricanes, headed to the postseason for the sixth straight year and 19th time in franchise history, have reached the Conference Finals twice over a streak of five straight playoff appearances. They are one of four teams with seven or more series wins since 2019 and the only one of that group without a Cup (TBL: 11; VGK: 8; COL: 7; CAR: 7).
* Sebastian Aho, already the franchise leader in playoff goals, assists, points and multi-point playoff games, is one multi-goal game away from becoming the first with five in the postseason for the Hurricanes/Whalers and one multi-assist outing from tying Jaccob Slavin for the most in franchise history.
* Jaccob Slavin holds the franchise record for career postseason points among defensemen, but enters the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs one goal shy of tying Dave Babych for the most by a blueliner in Hurricanes/Whalers history.
* The Hurricanes added 2017 Stanley Cup champion Jake Guentzel and 2018 Stanley Cup champion Evgeny Kuznetsov – former rivals with the Capitals and Penguins – prior to the 2024 Trade Deadline. Guentzel owns 0.59 goals per game in the playoffs, tied with Connor McDavid for the second-highest total among active skaters (min. 10 GP) and behind only Leon Draisaitl.

More #NHLStats
* Brent Burns (22-49—71 in 109 GP) owns the second-most games of playoff experience on the Hurricanes active roster behind captain Jordan Staal (35-33—68 in 136 GP). Burns, one of two active players with 1,400+ career games played in search of their first Cup, is one of five active defensemen with at least 70 career playoff points.
* Evgeny Kuznetsov posted a League-leading 12-20—32 during Washington’s championship run in 2018. Since his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut in 2014-15, only three players have more points in a single postseason than he had in 2018: Nikita Kucherov (7-27—34 in 2020), Connor McDavid (10-23—33 in 2022) and Brayden Point (14-19—33 in 2020).
* Despite not making it past the First Round of a postseason since 2018, Jake Guentzel (t-6) is one of the top postseason goal scorers since debuting during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
* Rod Brind’Amour is the 13th head coach in the expansion era (since 1967-68) to make the playoffs in each of their first six NHL seasons. The last coaches to accomplish the feat were Todd McLellan (6 from 2008-09—2013-14 w/ SJS) and Dan Bylsma (6 from 2008-09—2013-14 w/ PIT).
