Boxing Preview: Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. (33-4-1, 15 KOs) vs Jesus “Ricky” Perez (24-5-0, 18 KOs)

Former world champ Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. (33-4-1, 15 KOs) from South El Monte is set to headline the first Golden Boy Fight Night on DAZN of 2024. He’ll square off in a 10-round super lightweight showdown against the formidable Jesus “Ricky” Perez (24-5, 18 KOs) from Tijuana, Mexico.

“I’m stoked to let the boxing world know I’m back in the ring,” exclaimed Joseph “JoJo” Diaz. “Catch me in action on February 15. And after this, I’m coming for all the big shots.”

Big-hearted Jesus Perez chimed in, “Huge thanks to Golden Boy and my promoter Paco Damian for believing in me and handing me this golden opportunity. Beating JoJo Diaz would open doors I’ve only dreamt of.Mark my words, folks, it’s gonna be war”

In the co-main event, Ricardo “El Niño” Sandoval (23-2, 16 KOs) from Rialto, recently crowned number 10 on ESPN’s Top 25 under 25 list, will tackle a 10-round flyweight bout. Also on the DAZN lineup, Eric Tudor (9-1, 6 KOs) from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, aims for redemption in a six-round super welterweight clash. And kicking off the DAZN broadcast, San Diego’s Jorge “El Niño Dorado” Chavez (9-0, 7 KOs) steps into a six-round super bantamweight skirmish.
