Date: Saturday, June 1, 2024

How to Watch: PPV

Filip Hrgovic is 17-0 with 14 wins by knockout/technical knockout and three by decision. Some of the highlights of his career include victories over Zhilei Zhang, Rydell Booker, and so on.

Given his amazing portfolio, it’s no surprise that he’s fighting a title eliminator bout on June 1. If he wins, he’ll get a chance to become the undisputed champion. But what if he loses?

According to the man himself, he’s going to retire if Dubois beats him. The 6’6 Croatian is turning 32 just three days after the Hrgovic vs. Dubois bout, meaning that there’s still plenty of time for him to reach boxing stardom.

But he’s adamant – he’s going to quit boxing if he doesn’t prove to the world that he’s the best

Daniel Dubois is a 26-year-old British boxer who’s 20-2 overall, with 19 wins by knockout/technical knockout. When it comes to his losses, both happened by KO.

The first of those was against Joey Joyce in 2020. The other one was against Oleksandr Usyk in 2023. The loss to the Ukrainian was kind of controversial given that Dubois knocked him down at one point, but rather than starting the countdown, the referee declared it an illegal punch. That said, some believe that it was Dubois who deserved to win that fight.

Had he won it, he’d be the champion. But that’s all the in past, and he could get another chance to become the world heavyweight champion. For that, he needs to beat Hrgovic on June 1.

Hrgovic is a heavyweight giant who’s hard as a rock, but if there’s an opponent who can rock him, it’s Dubois. The Englishman has incredible striking power. He’s also fast and agile, so we could see him land some devastating body shots.
