The Boston Fleet have officially signed forward Kelly Babstock to a Standard Player Agreement (SPA) with the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), securing her for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

“As we approach such a pivotal point in the season, we knew Kelly Babstock would inject the energy and grit our team needs both on and off the ice,” said Fleet General Manager Danielle Marmer. “No one brings more passion and determination to the rink than Babs. With every game and every point critical to our playoff aspirations, we’re thrilled to have her with us for this crucial push.”

Babstock began the 2024-25 campaign on the Fleet’s Reserve Player list before being activated on a 10-day contract on January 2, during which she appeared in three games. The 32-year-old forward from Mississauga, ON, was a key contributor during the inaugural PWHL season, suiting up for four regular-season games and all eight playoff matchups with Boston, where she tallied one assist. Known for her relentless work ethic, Babstock has proven to be a reliable player in high-stakes situations.

Babstock will now join the Fleet as they travel to Ottawa to face the Charge on March 15 at TD Place, bringing her trademark intensity to the roster as they gear up for the final stretch of the season.

In a corresponding roster move, forward Jillian Dempsey has been placed back on the Fleet’s Reserve Player list. This adjustment ensures the team remains flexible and prepared for the challenges ahead.
