This Thursday night, Boxing Insider, New York City’s premier club boxing show, returns to Sony Hall with an action-packed lineup featuring some of the area’s top prospects. The event will be streamed worldwide on DAZN. Tickets are on sale now! Come support NYC Boxing.
In the 10-round main event, one of boxing’s best-kept secrets, welterweight Avious Griffin (16-0, 15 KOs), will face off against Jose Luis “Guerro” Sanchez (14-4, 4 KOs) for the vacant WBC USA Welterweight title. Griffin, who has stopped all but one of his 16 opponents, enters the ring with a 9-fight KO streak.
A 10-round special heavyweight attraction features Dominican Republic-native “Gentleman” George Arias (18-1-1, 7 KOs), fighting out of The Bronx, against Helaman Olguin.
Additionally, two Brooklyn lightweight prospects will compete in three separate four-round bouts:
- Koby Khalil Williams (4-0, 3 KOs) vs. Nicholas Isaac (5-0, 4 KOs)
- Jason Castanon (1-1, 1 KO) vs. Stephen Barbee
“New York City is experiencing a boxing resurgence with some of the biggest events in the sport,” promoter Larry Goldberg said. “Avious Griffin stole the show the last two times he was featured on Boxing Insider events, and this time he’s fighting his toughest opponent yet in a WBC US Title fight. We have a strong heavyweight fight, and I’m very excited to feature 4-0 Koby Williams vs. 5-0 Nicholas Isaac.”
