Braves to receive player to be named later or cash considerations
ANAHEIM – The Angels today acquired INF Luis Guillorme from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. In a corresponding 40-man roster move, INF Anthony Rendon has been transferred to the 60-day injured list.
A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Guillorme (pronounced: Gee-OR-may) was originally selected by the New York Mets in the 10th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Coral Springs Charter School in Florida. He made his Major League debut with the Mets in 2018, and had a slash line of .261/.344/.333 with 40 extra-base hits in 343 career games with New York (N.L.) across six seasons from 2018 to 2023. He signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Braves on January 5, 2024 and played in 10 games for the Braves this season. Across his Major League career, Guillorme has appeared in 154 games at second base, 86 games at third base and 47 games at shortstop.
