WINNIPEG, MB. – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announced that Canadian defensive tackle Cam Lawson has signed a two‑year contract extension, keeping him with the club through the 2026 season.

Lawson (6‑3, 290; Queen’s University; born October 7, 1998, in Caledon, ON) will return for his fourth season in Blue and Gold.

After a season‑ending knee injury in 2024, Lawson rebounded in 2025 to appear in 16 games — including six starts — while recording 21 defensive tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble.

Originally drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the second round, 16th overall, of the 2020 CFL Draft, Lawson played four games with Montreal in 2021 before being acquired by Winnipeg in a 2022 draft‑day trade. That deal sent the Bombers’ 9th and 18th overall selections to the Alouettes in exchange for Lawson and the 13th overall pick.

Since joining Winnipeg, Lawson has suited up for 49 games, bringing his career totals to 53 CFL appearances with 41 defensive tackles, seven sacks, one interception, and a forced fumble.

At Queen’s University, Lawson was twice named an OUA Second Team All‑Star (2017, 2018), establishing himself as a standout before turning professional.
