VANCOUVER – The BC Lions announced Wednesday that star receiver Keon Hatcher Sr. has signed a two‑year contract extension, keeping him in the Lions Den through the 2027 season.
Hatcher Sr., who was set to become a free agent in February, remains a cornerstone of the Lions’ offense.
Leadership and Legacy
“Hatch epitomizes what it means to be a BC Lion,” said general manager Ryan Rigmaiden. “He’s a dynamic playmaker — smart, tough, and team‑first. As great as he’s become on the field, I’m equally proud of the leadership role he’s embraced and the impact he has in our locker room. I’m excited to see what he and Nathan Rourke accomplish together in the years ahead.”
Career‑Best Season
The 2025 campaign marked Hatcher Sr.’s finest season to date, as he led the CFL with 1,688 receiving yards on a career‑high 102 receptions, adding nine touchdowns. His dominance earned him All‑CFL and West Division All‑CFL honors.
In the postseason, Hatcher Sr. continued to shine, recording eight catches for 126 yards and a touchdown across two Grey Cup Playoff appearances.
Climbing the Record Books
Over five seasons with BC, Hatcher Sr. has amassed 4,779 receiving yards, placing him 14th on the franchise’s all‑time list. Another 1,000‑yard campaign would propel him into the club’s top 10, further cementing his place among the Lions’ greats.
