NEW YORK – Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd and New England Patriots cornerback Marcus Jones are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 4 (September 15, 28-29).

OFFENSE: QB PATRICK MAHOMES, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

  • Mahomes completed 25 of 37 pass attempts (67.6 percent) for 270 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions and a 124.8 passer rating in Kansas City’s 37-20 victory over Baltimore. It marked the only four passing touchdown performance in the NFL in Week 4 and the 18th of Mahomes’ career, the most-ever by a player in his first nine seasons.
  • This is the 11th-career Player of the Week award for Mahomes, the most in Chiefs franchise history:
    • 2018: Weeks 1-2
    • 2019: Week 2
    • 2020: Weeks 3, 8
    • 2021: Weeks 1, 10
    • 2022: Weeks 1, 4
    • 2023: Week 12
    • 2025: Week 4
  • Mahomes ties Russell Wilson for the fourth-most Player of the Week awards among active quarterbacks, trailing only Aaron Rodgers (19), Josh Allen (16) and Lamar Jackson (13).

DEFENSE: LB DEVIN LLOYD, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

  • Lloyd recorded eight tackles, two interceptions and a tackle for loss in Jacksonville’s 26-21 victory at San Francisco. He was the only AFC player with multiple interceptions in Week 4 and it marked the second game by a linebacker this season with at least eight tackles and two interceptions (Chicago’s Tremaine Edmunds in Week 3).
  • This is Lloyd’s first-career Defensive Player of the Week award, as he and Foyesade Oluokun (Week 1) become the first pair of teammates to each earn the honor this season.
  • Lloyd becomes the third former University of Utah linebacker to win the award, joining Cody Barton (Week 7, 2024) and Anthony Davis (Week 10, 1997).

SPECIAL TEAMS: CB MARCUS JONES, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

  • Jones set a Patriots single-game record with 167 punt-return yards in New England’s 42-13 win over Carolina, including an 87-yard punt-return touchdown in the first quarter, tied for the third-longest in the NFL this season.
  • This is Jones’ second-career Special Teams Player of the Week award, also earning the honor in Week 11 of the 2022 season. He becomes the third non-kicker/punter Patriot to win the award twice, joining Julian Edelman and Ellis Hobbs.
  • Jones joins Lamar Smith (two) as the only former University of Houston players to win multiple Player of the Week awards.
