TORONTO – The Canadian Football League (CFL) Department of Health, Safety and Integrity has issued disciplinary fines to two Montreal Alouettes players for violations committed during Week 10 of the regular season.
The Department, which oversees non-suspendable discipline, includes:
- Greg Dick, Chief Football Operations Officer
- Darren Hackwood, Vice-President of Officiating
- Ryan Janzen, Associate VP of Football Operations
- Eric Noivo, Associate VP of Health and Safety
Player Discipline Announced
Caleb Evans – Quarterback, Montreal Alouettes
Evans has been fined for violating the CFL Code of Conduct after simulating the firing of a weapon during a touchdown celebration. The league deemed the act inappropriate and contrary to its standards of sportsmanship and public image.
Shawn Lemon – Defensive Lineman, Montreal Alouettes
Lemon has been fined for conduct that brought the league into disrepute, also stemming from a celebratory gesture deemed unacceptable under the CFL Code of Conduct.
CFL Discipline Policy
In accordance with CFL policy, the league does not disclose the monetary value of fines. Additionally, the CFL does not publicly announce disciplinary actions related to:
- Dress code violations
- Team or staff infractions
- Players who have been released
All disciplinary decisions are made with the intent to uphold the integrity, safety, and professionalism of the CFL.
