Arlington, Texas – The Texas Rangers today announced a pair of roster moves ahead of Wednesday’s series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Globe Life Field:
- Activated: OF Evan Carter from the 10-day Injured List
- Placed: OF Adolis García on the 10-day Injured List (left ankle sprain)
Carter Returns from Back Spasms
Carter, 22, rejoins the active roster after missing the last 10 games due to back spasms. During his absence, the Rangers posted a 4–6 record. This marks Carter’s second IL stint of the season, following a quad strain that sidelined him from May 17 to June 2.
In a rehab appearance Tuesday night with Double-A Frisco, Carter went 0-for-2 with two walks and was hit by a pitch.
Since June 8, Carter has slashed .262/.350/.429/.778 over 40 games, tallying 3 home runs, 2 triples, 8 doubles, and 18 RBI. The Rangers are 25–15 in that span. All 44 of his defensive starts this season have come in center field, with Texas going 27–17 in those contests.
A second-round pick in 2020, Carter is in his third MLB season and owns a career slash line of .230/.319/.417/.736 with 14 home runs and 48 RBI across 123 games.
García Lands on IL with Ankle Injury
García, 32, exits the lineup after starting 115 of the team’s 121 games this season, including 55 straight since June 10. He’s batting .224/.266/.388/.655 with 16 home runs, 24 doubles, 64 RBI, 10 stolen bases, and 122 strikeouts. He leads the club in both doubles and RBI.
This marks García’s second career regular-season IL stint, the first since a 10-day absence in September 2023 due to a right patellar tendon strain.
