The North Carolina State Lottery Commission has released its July 2025 sports wagering revenue report, detailing monthly activity from the state’s eight licensed interactive sports betting operators.

Between July 1 and July 31, North Carolina account holders wagered a total of $370,385,588 on sporting events. This figure includes both paid and promotional wagers. Bettors won $344,636,964 during the same period.

Under state law, North Carolina imposes an 18% tax on gross wagering revenue, defined as the total amount received from wagers minus winnings paid out—prior to any deductions for operating expenses, fees, or other taxes.

For July, the state’s eight licensed operators reported $22,679,993 in gross wagering revenue. Applying the 18% tax rate, the estimated tax proceeds for the month total $4,082,399, which will be collected by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

The report reflects continued growth in the state’s regulated sports betting market and provides transparency into monthly financial performance.
