BOSTON, MA – The Boston Fleet announced today that defender Hadley Hartmetz has signed a one-year Standard Player Agreement, securing her return to the club for the 2025–26 Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) season.
Hartmetz, 24, was selected 40th overall by Boston in the seventh round of the 2024 PWHL Draft and made her professional debut on March 13 against the Montréal Victoire. Despite limited action last season—appearing in two games—she impressed with her resilience and is now fully healthy heading into training camp after recovering from an injury sustained during her collegiate career.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Hadley back to the Fleet,” said General Manager Danielle Marmer. “She enters camp stronger and ready to contribute. Her steady, hard-nosed defensive style is exactly the kind of presence we’re excited to add to our blue line.”
A native of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Hartmetz played two seasons at Boston College before transferring to Ohio State University, where she won NCAA national titles in 2022 and 2024. Over 118 games with the Buckeyes, she totaled 18 goals and 41 assists for 59 points, earning Second Team All-WCHA honors in her final season. Internationally, Hartmetz won gold and silver medals with Team USA at the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championships in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Hartmetz joins a Fleet roster that now includes 16 players under contract for 2025–26, highlighted by recent signings Chloé Aurard, Laura Kluge, Liz Schepers, defenders Zoe Boyd and Rylind MacKinnon, and goaltender Abbey Levy.
