NEW YORK – The New York Sirens announced today that defender Allyson Simpson has signed a two-year Standard Player Agreement to remain with the team through the 2026–27 Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) season.
Simpson, 24, returns to the Sirens following a strong rookie campaign in which she appeared in all 30 games after being selected in the third round of the 2024 PWHL Draft. The Fort Worth, Texas native tallied five points (1 goal, 4 assists), tying for fourth in scoring among rookie blueliners while showcasing her steady presence and mobility on the backend.
“Having Allyson with us for the next two seasons adds to an exciting wave of youth,” said Sirens General Manager Pascal Daoust. “Her talent, speed, and leadership make her a foundational piece of what we’re building in New York.”
Before turning pro, Simpson spent five seasons under Head Coach Greg Fargo at Colgate University, where she compiled 107 points (34 goals, 73 assists) in 174 career games. Her senior season was her most productive, posting 34 points in 40 games and scoring the decisive goal to send Colgate to the Frozen Four. On the international stage, Simpson captured gold medals with Team USA at the 2017 and 2018 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championships.

Simpson, listed at 5’8″, will anchor a defensive unit that includes five returning players for the 2025–26 season: Lauren Bernard, Jaime Bourbonnais, Maja Nylén Persson, Jincy Roese, and captain Micah Zandee-Hart.
