TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired forward Sam O’Reilly from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Isaac Howard, Vice President and General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

O’Reilly, 19, joins the Lightning organization after an impressive season with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he tallied 28 goals and 71 points in 62 regular season games, finishing third in team scoring and second in plus/minus (+56). The Toronto native continued his standout play in the postseason, contributing seven goals and 22 points over 17 playoff games to help lead London to its second consecutive J. In the 2025 Memorial Cup, O’Reilly appeared in five games, recording two goals and five points, including the primary assist on the championship-winning goal, as the Knights secured their third Memorial Cup title in franchise history.
