Texas Rangers execute two roster moves; Boushley recalled, Dunning optioned to Minors

Houston, TX – The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions ahead of their series opener against the Houston Astros at Daikin Park:

  • RHP Caleb Boushley has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock
  • RHP Dane Dunning has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock

Boushley, 31, begins his fourth stint with the Rangers this season (previously active April 8–27, May 1–15, May 18–June 23). Over 15 relief appearances, he has posted a 5.04 ERA (17 ER/30.1 IP) with 29 strikeouts and only 5 walks. His most recent MLB outing came on June 22 at Pittsburgh, where he allowed 5 earned runs over 4.0 innings. Boushley ranks among team leaders with nine multi-inning relief appearances this year, tied with Jacob Latz and 4th-most in the American League.

At Triple-A, Boushley has delivered strong results, going 0-1 with a 1.17 ERA (2 ER/15.1 IP) across four appearances—including a June 28 start vs. Tacoma where he allowed two hits over 4.2 scoreless innings (84 pitches, 47 strikes).

Dunning, 30, has made five relief appearances across three Major League stints this season, registering a 3.38 ERA (4 ER/10.2 IP), two saves, and a .231 opponent batting average (9-39). He last pitched July 10 vs. the Angels, securing the final two outs in a 9th-inning effort (0.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 SO, 1 HR). In 2025 with Round Rock, Dunning holds a 2-1 record and 4.47 ERA (23 ER/46.1 IP) over 12 games (11 starts).
