The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has taken its most aggressive enforcement action yet, issuing cease-and-desist letters to 19 unlicensed online gambling operators found to be illegally targeting Michigan residents. The move underscores the state’s commitment to protecting consumers and preserving the integrity of its regulated gaming market.

MGCB Reinforces Consumer Protection

“This is about protecting Michigan players,” said Henry Williams, Executive Director of the MGCB. “Illegal gambling operators threaten the safety of our citizens and the integrity of our gaming industry. When companies offer games without proper licensing, players are left without the critical protections they deserve. That’s unacceptable, and we’re taking strong action to stop it.”

The enforcement effort is part of the MGCB’s broader mission to uphold the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, Lawful Sports Betting Act, and the Michigan Penal Code.

Platforms Ordered to Cease Operations

The following 19 websites were found in direct violation of Michigan law and have been ordered to immediately halt all operations within the state:

  • Bingo Village
  • BITBET
  • Café Casino
  • Cocoa Casino
  • Cyber Bingo
  • Davinci’s Gold
  • Desert Nights Casino
  • Diamond Reels Online Casino
  • Eclipse Casino
  • Eternal Slots
  • EuroBets Casino
  • Fair Go Casino
  • GoldWin Casino
  • Ignition Casino
  • Jackbit
  • Jackpot Capital
  • Paradise 8 Casino
  • Red Stag Casino
  • Two Up Casino

Each operator has 14 days to comply or face further legal consequences, including potential action in coordination with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

Additional Sites Under Investigation

The MGCB also flagged several other platforms currently under active investigation for offering unlicensed gambling services to Michigan residents:

  • BoVegas Casino – Offers casino-style games without licensure
  • BUSR – Operates as an unregulated sportsbook and casino
  • Cherry Gold Casino – Markets promotions without legal oversight
  • Lucky Legends – Promotes a “VIP” experience without accountability
  • Wager Attack Casino – Provides unlicensed sports betting and casino games

Risks of Playing on Unlicensed Sites

Without state regulation, players using these platforms face serious risks, including:

  • No guaranteed payout of winnings
  • Exposure to unfair or rigged games
  • No legal recourse in cases of fraud or disputes

“These platforms operate in the shadows,” Williams added. “They’re not just skirting the rules—they’re exposing players to serious harm. Our job is to stop them, and we take that responsibility seriously.”

What’s Next

The MGCB urges Michigan residents to verify the licensing status of any gambling site before depositing funds or placing bets. A full list of authorized operators is available on the MGCB’s official website.

For suspected violations, consumers are encouraged to file a report directly with the MGCB.
