Department of Health, Safety and Integrity levies fines for on-field altercations and dangerous play
TORONTO – The Canadian Football League (CFL) has announced a series of disciplinary actions stemming from Week 4, as determined by the Department of Health, Safety and Integrity, which oversees league discipline. The Office of the Commissioner continues to handle all suspendible offenses.
The department is comprised of key league officials, including:
- Greg Dick, Chief Football Operations Officer
- Darren Hackwood, Vice-President of Officiating
- Ryan Janzen, Associate VP of Football Operations
- Eric Noivo, Associate VP of Health and Safety
Week 4 CFL Fines Announced
The following players have been fined for violations of CFL conduct standards:
- Micah Johnson (Saskatchewan Roughriders, DL)
- Mike Rose (Saskatchewan Roughriders, DL)
- Chris Schleuger (BC Lions, OL)
- George Una (BC Lions, OL)
All four players were fined for engaging in a non-football act—specifically, participating in an in-game altercation.
- Cameron Judge (Toronto Argonauts, LB)
Fined for delivering a high hit on Ottawa REDBLACKS quarterback Dustin Crum.
CFL Disciplinary Policy
In accordance with CFL policy, the league does not disclose the monetary value of fines. Additionally, the CFL does not publicly announce disciplinary actions in the following cases:
- Dress code violations
- Infractions involving team personnel or staff
- Incidents involving players who have been released
