The Wyoming Gaming Commission has released a public advisory warning residents and visitors about the rise in illegal interactive gaming (iGaming) platforms operating within the state. The Commission stresses that online casinos, poker rooms, and other iGaming activities remain illegal in Wyoming and are not licensed or regulated by state authorities.

While Wyoming allows legal online sports wagering and fantasy sports, all real-money casino games, including slots, blackjack, and roulette, are strictly prohibited. Despite this, numerous unregulated online gaming sites continue to target Wyoming residents. Many of these platforms operate offshore, often appearing legitimate but lacking any regulatory oversight. Some have even registered Wyoming-based LLCs and falsely display Wyoming addresses to mislead users.

Examples of illegal gaming operations include:

  • Unlicensed online casinos offering real-money play
  • Sweepstakes and social casino sites with real-money payouts
  • Platforms falsely claiming Wyoming authorization

Statement from Wyoming Gaming Commission

“We want to be absolutely clear—no online casino, iGaming site, or sweepstakes platform is licensed by the Wyoming Gaming Commission,” said Executive Director Nicholas Larramendy. “Anyone engaging with these unlicensed sites does so at their own risk. The Commission has no authority to assist in disputes over winnings or account issues arising from illegal iGaming operations. Enforcement remains difficult, as many of these companies operate outside the United States. However, we remain committed to shutting down any illegal operations within Wyoming when identified.”

Consumer Protection Advisory

The Wyoming Gaming Commission urges the public to be cautious when encountering online gambling advertisements or websites claiming to offer casino gaming in the state. Wyoming’s licensed online sports wagering operators are subject to rigorous regulatory standards to ensure fairness and consumer protection.
