WINNIPEG, MB –The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have officially extended quarterback Zach Collaros’ contract for one more year, securing his presence through the 2026 Canadian Football League season.

Entering his sixth season with the franchise, Collaros has solidified himself as one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in Blue Bombers history. His leadership has played a pivotal role in five consecutive Grey Cup appearances, with victories in 2019 and 2021. He remains the only quarterback in CFL history to start more than three consecutive championship games.

Since joining Winnipeg via trade in October 2019, Collaros has been instrumental in the team’s success, with the Blue Bombers boasting a 57-18 record in his starts (including playoffs). His 49 regular-season wins rank third in franchise history, trailing only Ken Ploen (82) and Dieter Brock (71). With 16,177 career passing yards, he sits fifth in Winnipeg’s all-time records.

Collaros showcased his passing prowess in 2024, throwing for a career-high 4,336 yards with 17 touchdowns in 17 games, helping the team achieve a 10-7 record in his starts. His highlight performance came in a September victory over Edmonton, where he threw for six touchdowns and 432 yards, tying for the second-most TDs in a single game in club history.

Over the course of his 158-game CFL career, Collaros has played for Toronto (2012-13), Hamilton (2014-17), Saskatchewan (2018-19), and Winnipeg (2019-present). His 32,935 career passing yards rank 17th in CFL history, and his next touchdown pass will mark the 200th of his storied career.

Collaros’ extension ensures that Winnipeg will continue to benefit from his veteran leadership as they pursue another Grey Cup run in 2025 and beyond.
