Kevin Pillar Returns
Pillar, 36, was placed on the injured list on May 7 (retroactive to May 4) and missed the last 13 games. He completed a three-game rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco, going 1-for-10 with one run scored while appearing as a designated hitter and playing eight innings in center field.
The veteran outfielder has appeared in 18 games for Texas this season, slashing .237 (9-for-38) with two doubles, one RBI, three stolen bases, and six runs scored. He has played at all three outfield positions and served as designated hitter. A 13-year MLB veteran, Pillar has logged 1,232 career games with multiple teams before joining the Rangers this season. Signed to a minor league contract on February 23, he was the only non-roster invitee to make the Rangers’ Opening Day roster.
Caleb Boushley’s Third Stint with Texas
Boushley, 31, returns for his third stint with the Rangers this season (previously April 8-27 and May 1-14). He has posted a 4.50 ERA (6 ER/12.0 IP) in six relief appearances, last pitching Wednesday in Texas’ 8-3 win over Colorado, where he tossed 2.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
The right-hander originally signed a minor league deal with Texas on November 15, 2024, and has made nine career MLB appearances with Milwaukee (2023), Minnesota (2024), and Texas (2025). He leads the Rangers with four relief outings of two or more innings this season (T-9th in AL).
Evan Carter to Injured List
Carter, 22, has played in 11 of Texas’ last 12 games since his recall from Triple-A Round Rock on May 6. The left-handed hitter has slashed .182/.270/.273 (.543 OPS) with one home run, three RBIs, three stolen bases, and five runs scored. Originally selected in the 2nd round of the 2020 MLB Draft, Carter has posted a .218 batting average across 79 career MLB games since 2023.
Cole Winn Optioned to Round Rock
Winn, 25, pitched 2.1 scoreless innings in Friday’s 6-3 loss to Houston after being recalled on Thursday. The right-hander has made 14 career MLB appearances (all relief), compiling a 6.86 ERA (15 ER/19.2 IP) and 3.90 FIP since debuting in 2024.
Roster Status
With these moves, the Rangers remain at the 40-man roster limit, with Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, and Josh Sborz currently on the 60-day injured list.
