Major League Baseball announced that Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Tommy Pham has been issued a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for inappropriate conduct directed at fans during Wednesday night’s game at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The decision was confirmed by Michael Hill, MLB’s Senior Vice President for On-Field Operations.
Pham’s suspension was originally scheduled to take effect tonight, as the Pirates prepare to begin their series at Dodger Stadium. However, Pham has chosen to appeal the decision, delaying the enforcement of the discipline until the appeal process is finalized.
