ATLANTA, GA – The Minnesota Twins have reinstated right-handed pitcher Brock Stewart from the 15-day injured list after his rehab assignment, and have optioned left-hander Kody Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul.
Stewart, 33, has been sidelined for the first 20 games of the season due to a left hamstring strain. During his rehab stint with Single-A Fort Myers, he appeared in two games, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings while striking out five batters without allowing a hit or walk. Last season, he made 16 appearances for Minnesota, posting a 2.28 ERA (11 ER/43.1 IP) with one save, 15 holds, and 59 strikeouts. Stewart has held opponents to a .218 batting average in his 44 relief outings with the Twins since joining the team in 2023.
To clear roster space, the Twins have optioned Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul. The 26-year-old was recalled on April 12 and has pitched in two games, allowing two runs on three hits across four innings with five strikeouts and one walk.
Minnesota will adjust its bullpen depth as Stewart rejoins the team.
